License tagging for Image:Sarajevo1.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Sarajevo1.JPG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Hey
[edit]You are doing a great job with the sarajevo article, really beautiful pictures. I saw that you removed some of the pictures that I have uploaded, it's okey for me so you know :) But just a reminder; you have to be careful with providing source and so-called licence tags to your pictures, else you risk having them deleted by administrators. I hope you could find some pictures of bosmal centar, I have tried but without success. Damir Mišić 16:47, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Sarajevo, religion part
[edit]I will take a look at the new parts, it looks fine to me. But I am currently having some user-disputes around the bosniaks article, people don't seem to get what is good for them. You could have expected that, at least, bosniaks themselves know Bosnian history as it is - but even they keep on reverting my good efforts to provide the truth and correct terms. You are a Dobri Bosnjanin, I can see that, but take this as an advice from me, it is not worth to spend hours on trying to change or improve anything when even the bosniaks themselves seem to object. Don't waste your time on trying to make an effort; it just isn't worth it when you have a people that doesn't know how to protect their interests. Perhaps I am a bit negative now, but I am slowly starting to realise what I wrote. What do you think? Damir Mišić

Yugoslavs
[edit]Obviously you did not understand what I ment to say, sorry. Bosnians is the correct name for Bosniaks - I don't feel comfortable with using an old term as bosniaks. That would be like serbs using "srbljin" instead of "srbin" again. Bosnian editors on wikipedia are complicating things, instead of writing "Bosniaks or also called Bosnians" they say "Bosniaks are not the same as Bosnians". How stupid can one get to say a stupid thing like that, Bosniaks are indeed the only Bosnians - and the proper name for "Bosniaks" is "Bosnians" in the English language. I personally don't like the unitary Yugoslavia idea - croats and serbs are perhaps the same people. But Bosnians are not, netiher are slovenians or macedonians. In my oppinion, the only real south slavs are the slovenians. The serbs and croats are descendants of Iranian tribes mixed with slavic. The Bosnians ("Bosniaks") are descendants of Illyrian tribes mixed with slavic. The Macedonians and Bulgarians are descendants of Turkic tribes mixed with slavic. And the Slovenians are purely slavic tribes. There is no Yugoslavia, never has been - it is just an imaginary creation. Damir Mišić
Hey...
[edit]Listen I love what you are doing with the pictures, but I am sick of adding "licensings" for every single picture. Please get to know the licensing procedures. If you need help just ask me (leave a message on my discussion page). Talk to me in Bosnian or English I really do not care.
Keep up the good work.

Copyright violations
[edit]Hi! I noticed the images you've added to the Sarajevo article say they're Creative Commons-licensed on their image pages, but in fact they're copyrighted according to Flickr, Scryscraper City and the other websites you've mentioned as a source. Please refrain from uploading images when you're not sure about the copyright status, this is harmful to Wikipedia. Todor→Bozhinov 19:59, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, unfortunately, they have to be deleted. They're great images, there's no doubt, but Wikipedia's aim is to be a free encyclopedia, and these photos are not free content. They can't be fair use, because they can be easily reproduced, and I know the Sarajevo article would look a bit humble without them, but you can always find free equivalents — try these 125, for example, all free Creative Commons licensed. Generally, when you search Flickr for images to use in Wikipedia, mark all three CC fields on the Advanced Search page, so all you'd get is suitable to use here.
- Don't be cast down, I know how it is with that war and everything, and I understand your ambition to show the world just how beautiful your city is after all, but that's not the way, I think. I'm sure there are enough free image resources for Bosnia and Herzegovina, I've found some for Bulgaria that are quite sufficient, for example. Todor→Bozhinov 20:10, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- On a related note, I've started removing the copyrighted images from the article and am listing them at Wikipedia:Copyright problems. I understand your desire to improve the article, and I'm glad that you are willing to do so, but Wikipedia just can't accept such copyrighted images. Hopefully we'll be able to replace these images with free alternatives. Pagrashtak 01:13, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Rba-bosnia039278.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Rba-bosnia039278.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 16:37, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
