Welcome to Wikipedia! It looks like you are new. I am sure an administrator will be along shortly to give you the formal welcome, but please accept mine in the meantime.
Just a note: please do not add advertising material to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Condom. You are encouraged to instead add content to the articles. Lyrl Talk Contribs 22:08, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
warning
[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Vaginal lubrication. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. WLU 15:58, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Yes Organic Lubricants, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 11:10, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
In reply to your concern about your article's deletion, you should know that a Wikipedia entry about a product should reflect its notability, not build it. If this product has little or no notability yet (that means, few people know about its existence), then the mere existence of a Wikipedia article about it violates Wikipedia policy, regardless of the author's intentions. For more information, please refer to Wikipedia policy on spamming. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 11:26, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Personal lubricant. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. / edg ☺ ☭ 11:55, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Personal lubricant, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing anyone from linking to them from all of Wikipedia. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 19:44, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Personal lubricant appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. Please do not use Wikipedia to promote your products.[1] [2] While it is better that you are not linking your advertisements, adding this information to the article remains promotional, and Wikipedia is not here to provide you with free advertising. Please read Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy if you have not done so already. / edg ☺ ☭ 10:06, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Request reason:
I did not at first realise that links have been banned - there was one to our website that was deleted so I reinstated it not realising. i have stopped that, but my product's name "Yes" has consistently been removed from the personal lubricants page, all i have been doing in the last few days is trying to just put Yes back where it has been amongst our competitors, no links to web pages. I apologise if this was seen to be bad behaviour - I thought one of my competitors was doing this. I have, today, put Yes back again - again with no links, I have not violated any Wikiprincples that i am aware of, but if i have please let me know.
Decline reason:
You persistently added promotional information about your brand, ignoring all warnings. Your block has already expired, and you immediately resumed your promotinonal activity without a slightest attempt to discuss the matter. I've blocked you indefinitely, as you clearly here not to write the encyclopedia. MaxSem(Han shot first!) 11:18, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

[edit]To be included in an list of "popular brands" of Personal lubricant, you would need to make a case for your product on Talk:Personal lubricant by providing impartial information demonstrating that your product is as popular as the other brands listed in the article. A brief list would become unwieldy in length if everyone tacked on their favorite, causing the article to become less readable.
Per Wikipedia:Spam, "similar mention is made of other vendors whose products compete with mine" is not an excuse for adding promotion of your own product. If you are uncertain why another product is mentioned in a Wikipedia article, ask on the Talk page for that article. You may have found spam that needs to be removed. However, since you have a competing product, it would be in bad form for you to make that removal yourself. The Talk page remains a safe place to inquire. / edg ☺ ☭ 10:27, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you - and please check the history of Persoanl Lubriants page - Yes has been listed on this page for a long time. This is not a recent inclusion, Yes has been listed on this page longer than Firefly, Ready Lube and several others. I am objecting to Yes's sudden removal and the inclusion of new entries - this is not in the spirit of Wikipedia that I understood.Boomshanker (talk) 10:59, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- The double braces aren't needed in normal conversation; they're mostly used in templates. Here is a list of standard wikimarkup features.
- As for Personal lubricant, I would imagine frequent linkspamming would cause any unsourced, non-notable mention of the product to be removed. Introduce yourself in Talk:Personal lubricant and state your concerns about which products (including your own) might merit a mention. They will know from recent edit history that someone talking about Yes probably has a professional interest in that product, so be up front about that and indicate you want to do things the right way. The only places in that article I see brand names are listing "Popular brands", so you would need some reliable source that says Yes is similarly popular. If your product has some other distinction by which it would merit a mention, again provide a reliable source to confirm this information so people believe you. Wikipedia is not Consumer Reports or the evening news, so we don't need to mention every product. / edg ☺ ☭ 11:16, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- Please note, also, that your actions so far have set off the spam radar of several users, as your edit history shows not a single entry that is not related, directly or indirectly, to the promotion of your brand. This means, in the minds of many people, that even mentions made prior to your involvement have to be removed. It is best for you to just wait for someone else to add a mention to your brand, even if it takes several years before it happens. That other person introducing such mention should be totally unaware of your intentions, and preferably be someone who has never met you, either in person or online. And you should pray that this happens in a reasonably distant future (preferably at least six months), lest you be falsely accused of sockpuppetry.
- Believe me, there are plenty of people involved with Wikipedia who are intent on making sure spamlinking becomes counterproductive as a promotional method. Actually, spamlinking is counterproductive even if nothing is done about it. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 11:43, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

- Edg and Blanchardb: Thank you both. The sword grazed my neck, but missed an artery. I have learnt alot and have a lot to learn. I appreciate your words of explanation and help. [edit]Good morning Edg - I just wanted to say thank you for your comments, sword n'all, in case you did not see my thank you on my page Boomshanker (talk) 09:57, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Boomshanker. Thanks for your message.
- Just to let you know where I'm coming from, I'm as happy as anyone here to see a spammer blocked. I've dinged you twice on such offenses, and you've yet to make a single edit (aside from Talk page comments) that didn't mention Yes. It is our hope that you become a contributer who improves Wikipedia. But if you edit with the intent of finding ways to promote you product, our good faith in you is wasted.
- All that said, I'm glad to help. Feel free to message me if you need any assistance. The smiley face icon in my sig leads to my Talk page. / edg ☺ ☭ 15:48, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
