[edit]Welcome!
Hello, Bobtine, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!
The above links should help you in understanding how to contribute positively to Wikipedia. Even commonsense would dictate that calling some one a crackhead would not be construed as a constructive comment. Please read WP:V, all content added should be verifiable. Also, if you doubt the veracity of an article, the right way is to discuss it on the talkpage of such articles. --Gurubrahma 09:49, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
addition to crackhead
[edit]A student who uses Wikipedia as a valid source for historical research may be considered a crackhead without giving undue offense. When trying to teach teenagers proper historical investigation, why not add a harmless line to an 'official' entry such as under crackhead? The entry reads that the term is often used when talking about someone doing something foolish. I would like to add, "like using Wikipedia as a valid source for historical research." I do not consider that addition to be vandalism (how can you vandalize an open site?) and it is right. What is wrong with it?
