WikiProject Christianity Coordinators : The project coordinators are generally responsible for maintaining all of the procedural and administrative aspects of the project, and serve as the designated points-of-contact for procedural issues. They are not, however, endowed with any special executive powers, nor with any authority over article content or editor conduct. The Lead Coordinator bears overall responsibility for coordinating the project; the Assistant Coordinators aid the Lead Coordinator and focus on specific areas that require special attention.
The following Coordinators were elected after Elections 2008
There is also a discussion regarding whether any new subportals dealing with Christianity should be created here. All inputs are welcome.
Bot Assisted Assessment was used for the unassessed project articles. Should you need any manual reassessment , kindly request it here.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Japan Lutheran Church logo.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:Japan Lutheran Church logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:04, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Welcome to the Sixth issue of the WikiProject Christianity newsletter! Use this newsletter as a mechanism to inform yourselves about progress at the project and please be inspired to take more active roles in what we do.
Luckily, you all won't have to see my comments very often, as very little I have to say is really that important. But I would like to take the opportunity to say that I hope everyone finds the new General Forum page useful for discussing ideas relevant to Christianity in general, and feels free to make any additional comments regarding general Christianity there. Also, if any of you feel that you want to place a comment here in the future, please let us know what you want included. We would encourage all members to get more involved and if you are wondering what with, please ask. Use this newsletter as a mechanism to inform yourselves about progress at the project and please be inspired to take more active roles in what we do.
We are initiating a new feature here. Every month, we will list one misisng article. The first person to start the article will be mentioned by name in the next newsletter, as well as any others should they help get included in the Main Page DYK's section.

Anonymous editor disputing Chinese-ness of southern Chinese
IP edits from the 122.105.x.x range, which I believe originate from the same person, has been disputing how people from Guangdong and Fujian are not ethnic Chinese and have been victims of some genocide by the northern Chinese, and that present-day Vietnamese are the same and northern Chinese are a different race, ignoring how things have assimilated in the past 1500 years and that China was sustained in the south for a few centuries. You can see Talk:Hoa and look up my edit history to see where he's been for the past month or two disputing everything Chinese. HkCaGu (talk) 18:44, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
I am open to alternative point of views and don't hold on very tightly to traditional ideas of ethnicity myself. Nonetheless, if its going to be on Wikipedia, it better be verifiable. None of that "very difficult to find and generally not found on the internet reference" routine please. Thanks for the heads up - Bob K18:52, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Cut & Paste moves
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. Specifically, you copied the contents of University of Putra. This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming an article is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Same deal with University of Science I'm afraid. Sorry I'm slapping this template on you, but yeah just letting you know that I've tagged the two for a history merge with their respective articles anyway.Chan Yin Keen | UTC14:02, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Not a problem. I just realised the problem myself. Funny how I never noticed the Move tab until this morning. - Bob K14:05, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
We now have 53 featured articles 6 featured lists, and 130 good articles, with the recent promotions of Thomas Cranmer to FA class, List of encyclicals of Pope John XXIII to FL status, and Hugh de Puiset to GA level. Thanks to all those who worked on these articles!

As many of you will know, we currently have several articles relating to the same basic topics. The articles in the Category:Baptism are one example of such. It is really in the interests of all of us to try to place as much content in the main article of such topics, and then have the other articles "branch off" from there and making the central article as good an article as possible. We also now have a proposal for a new general "Christianity" related award, similar to the Military history project's chevrons, at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/General Forum. Newsletter challenge
Last month's new article challenge, Church of Daniel's Band, was begun by User:Jack1956 and was included in the Main page's DYK section on June 15. Thank you to Jack1956 for his great work on creating this article!
You have been quite free to send numerous messages to me regarding wikipedia rules. I would like to remind your, regarding the wiki for Najib Tun Razak, personal blogs CANNOT be used as source. There have been sufficient explanation regarding this on the talk page, please do proceed to the talk page and indulge in a healthy debate with me if you do feel that citing personal blogs is in line with wikipedia's policy on the biography for living people. Thank you.
I have not been involved in editing the article on Najib Tun Razak. Don't see why I should get involved. Moreover, you left this message unsigned. Not sure who you are. Most of the warning messages I've left today were for anonymous users vandalising the article on Anwar Ibrahim (see history). You saying you're the one? - Bob K | Talk18:18, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Whether it is done in good faith or not, that is another matter altogether. The article on Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister MUST have credible sources, otherwise you might cause wikipedia trouble. This paragraph should be removed, until those who wish to insert this paragraph have 'high quality sources'. This subject here should only revolve upon its authenticity, not me. Those who wish to protect this article from edits should protect it without that paragraph. Wikipedia might face legal action from the Deputy Prime Minister Office or the Government of Malaysia if that article remain, with its authenticity in doubt.60.51.116.149 (talk) 19:00, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, just because you think I am biased, that does not mean that you are allowed to publish facts with unreliable sources. The person who put in that article did it in bad faith, as he is trying to smear Najib's name by citing personal blog's as a source. THAT IS NOT RIGHT. I am biased, fine, ban me. That paragraph does not cite a credible source, remove it.
I am feeling you are biased as well, you, as well, prefer to smear Najib's name by publishing 'facts' from unreliable sources. That is against wikipedia's policy. Either you do nothing, or ban me, and remove that paragraph. You can't have the cake and eat it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.51.116.149 (talk) 19:11, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
There are procedures in Wikipedia regarding disputed facts and the disputed section has been tagged appropriately. IMHO, I found only 1 sentence and 1 paragraph in the section that would be questionable. The rest seemed quite well cited. - - Bob K | Talk19:14, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
The whole paragraph is rotten. Nothing in that paragraph is well cited, and that paragraph even calls Najib and his followers terrorist. Wikipedia is definitely going to hear soon from the DPM's office. hell, I have said this a million times, personal blogs CANNOT be used as a source, no matter how true or untrue a fact is. What a sad case, the anti-Najib brigade is on wikipedia. 60.51.116.149 (talk) 19:26, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
And the use of Yang Berbontot isn't? Anyway, the section has been re-written to state only the facts with the citations improved upon. Whether or not blogs can be used as a source or otherwise, WP:SPS has some guidelines. I do agree that the tone of the section was overwhelmingly POV, hence the edit. Nonetheless, not everywhere is like Malaysia. Politicians cannot force unflattering opinions of them to be suppressed just because they don't like it. - Bob K | Talk19:40, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
let me quote Self-published books, zines, websites, and blogs should never be used as a source for material about a living person, unless written or published by the subject of the article (see below). "Self-published blogs" in this context refers to personal and group blogs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.51.116.149 (talk) 19:42, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
The point is moot. The section has been amended with citations to reliable sources and POV opinions exorcised. - Bob K | Talk19:45, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi!
Thanks for your effort on List of schools in Malaysia. I had just noticed the existence of this page.
I think if a group of Wikipedians work together, this can be easily splitted. If you are interested in this, please sign your name at User:Mark Chung/School Project Members.
I'll then plan further steps. Thank you.
Okay, since you are the only one who responded for A FEW WEEKS, I think my only hope is you. Notify me when you're ready and we'll start editing in no time. Thanks.--Mark Chung (talk) 03:36, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

I would appreciate if Malaysians Wikipedians out there lend a hand and contribute to the article. Regards. Roman888 (talk) 17:49, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Image permission problem with Image:Mar_Thoma_Syrian_Church_Crest.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Mar_Thoma_Syrian_Church_Crest.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. PhilKnight (talk) 10:53, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes, it's been more than a bit of a rough time for some of us, okay, me, for a while here. Several things, most of them not real pleasant, kept coming up. I think most of that is over with know. I hope and pray as much anyway. Easter is the church's time of rebirth, and I hope it's a good time for the rebirth of this newsletter. I hope that the project grows in numbers and effectiveness as the church itself has over the years. Thanks again for all your efforts to date. Oh, yes, and please note that this section is entitled "From the Members". That means you, all of you. The Christianity project and its related projects currently have 68 FAs, 7 FLs, and 146 GAs, which includes 3 more FAs. We did however lose one FL and 2 GAs over the past month, but we still basically broke even with the 3 new FAs.

Hello from the new Christian films task force! I was recently apart of founding a task force, so this is the story. For several months, I would not only contribute to Christian films, groups, etc., but I'd also see other users working on similar articles. I really wanted to create a project for us to work from. Filmcom contacted me about trying to get a task force going, so we began working together on it. When it appeared the idea was dying, we continued to fight, and several other users joined!
Thanks to the efforts of many users, I'd like to introduce you to the Christian films task force! We are currently having a bot tag all Christian film-related articles, and we are working to define our project scope. We now have our own icon and shortcut (WP:CFTF), with ten users signed out thus far - these are just some of the things that have been happening in the last few days. If you have any interest in joining such a project, we welcome everyone to join and get involved.

I am in the process of going through the various categories related to Christianity. I am finding that several of them may not have sufficient number of members to continue. By the end of the month, I hope to have the main category list finished (yeah, it might take that long, it's huge). At that time, I think we will review all the categories and see which may not have sufficient articles to continue. Please feel free to take part in the discussion regading what the minimum number of category items is, and how to deal with the non-qualifying categories, on the General Forum page.

The Christianity project and its related projects currently have 76 FAs, 8 FLs, and 148 GAs. We gained new recognized content in each field, with 4 FAs promoted, 2 FLs, and 3 GAs. Congratulations and a big thank you to all those who worked on these articles!
I am still working on the categorization matter. With any luck, we should have some results by the end of the month. There are also some discussions regarding project related activities at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/General Forum. One issue in particular that might be addressed is possible elections of new coordinators. Anyone interested in serving in such a capacity is more than welcome to indicate as much.

It has been a long time since the last coordinators election. There is a lot for people to do, and I certainly would welcome seeing any individuals with an interest in such a position put themselves forward as candidates. I in particular would very much like to see some degree of "specialization" in the coordinators, so that, for instance, we might have someone knowledgable about some of the specific Christian faith traditions or other main subjects, like Orthodoxy, Lutheranism, Mormonism, the Jehovah's Witnesses, art, theology, and so on. If any parties who have experience with some of our faith- or- subject-based content would be interested in being candidates, I would love to see them do so. Please feel free to take part in the discussion regading what the minimum number of category items is, and how to deal with the non-qualifying categories, on the General Forum page.
