Betty Davis

[edit]

Most obituaries give her age at death as 77 not 76, indicating a 1944 birth year. I know this is contested, and I started a discussion on the article talk page to try to resolve it. If you have access to the Maureen Mahon article (I don't), please comment there. Thanks. Ghmyrtle (talk) 14:45, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

yeah i know, I've seen both 76 and 77... first I only found peoplepill website for July 26th 1945, but it doesn't have a source. I do have access to the Maureen Mahon book but it doesn't have a clear citation for the birth date either. There it just says: "For overviews of Davis's career, see John Balloon, “Liberated Sister,” Waxpoetics, April/May 2007, 112-24; Maycock, “She's Gotta Have It,” 48-51; Oliver Wang, Betty Davis [Liner Notes], Light in the Attic Records L1Ta 026, 2007, CD. Originally released in 1973." and I don't have access to those articles. Blumele (talk) 15:12, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. It would be great if you could add any info from the Mahon book into the article. Ghmyrtle (talk) 15:25, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
English is not my first language so I'm not 100% comfortable, but i'll give it my best shot once I'm done at work ;-) I actually tried to find out the birth date for the German article, which doesn't even have a day. I stole July 16th from the English Wiki but that got undone immediatly since I didn't bother to fact check - my bad! Blumele (talk) 15:29, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
