Use only one account
[edit]Looking through your posts at the Teahouse and other contributions it seems fairly clear that this account and Horror99fan are operated by the same person. Per this policy you should not do it; you should disclose the relationship between accounts on their user pages and use only one of them going forward. The alternative - that you and Horror are 'Meatpuppets' - is also against Wikipedia policy. Are you/both of you connected to the person and film, paid or not paid? That must be disclosed. Hi David, I am not connected or paid. I did not know what a "meatpuppet" was until I read your post and looked it up. I just read the description in the article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meat_puppetry. It says "Editors should assume good faith, especially for new users, before making meat puppet accusations." I am sorry that you have decided to form this opinion of me since I am new to Wikipedia and trying to get my bearings.Bluejay1984 (talk) 14:17, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Bluejay1984. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Bluejay1984. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Bluejay1984|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 09:12, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
Hello 331dot, I am not being paid for my contributions. I have been interested in Wikipedia for many years and decided to get involved. I paid a lot of attention to the forums for how to write a wikipedia entry page so tried to do my best. I am not sure what else to do.Bluejay1984 (talk) 14:20, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
If you are not paid to edit about Mr. Ramsey, fair enough, and I apologize. There were several indications that you might be a paid editor, the main one being a desire for a quick review of your draft. There is also another account (User:Horror99fan) that was created close to yours that edited about the film itself. It's better for paid editors to be honest about it if they are paid. 331dot (talk) 15:06, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
This account has been blocked indefinitely as a sockpuppet that was created to violate Wikipedia policy. Note that using multiple accounts is allowed, but using them for illegitimate reasons is not, and that all edits made while evading a block or ban may be reverted or deleted. If this account is not a sockpuppet, and you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}} below. 331dot (talk) 00:21, 2 September 2020 (UTC) |
