Disambiguation link notification for February 18
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Flipp Dinero, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page XXL (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

An extended welcome
[edit]Hi Blasianmanda. Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily.
Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.
If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.
Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.
I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal/Ronz (talk) 18:32, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
Suggestions for expanding the Flipp Dinero article
[edit]Hi Blasianmanda. I reverted your expansion to Flipp Dinero because the new version was very poorly referenced while being highly promotional. I expect you're interested in giving it another try, so a few suggestions:
- Please use descriptive edit summaries so it's clear what you're doing with each edit and so others can easily review your work.
- Work in small edits. So others can review your work, and so problems can be addressed piecemeal.
- Work primarily from independent, reliable sources. Otherwise it's too easy to echo the publicity that surrounds entertainers like Dinero.
- Avoid poor and primary sources.
- Avoid using YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, SoundCloud, Genius, SXSW, and similar sources.
- If you have a relationship with Dinero that falls under Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline, please disclose that relationship.
Working on biographical articles is not easy. These suggestions should help. --Hipal/Ronz (talk) 18:55, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the response. The list of performers here should give you better examples of similar articles. I suggest you make changes to the article a sentence at a time, restoring anything you felt was referenced by a high-quality source. The initial welcome message that was left for you at the top of this page has good recommendations where you can get help. --Hipal/Ronz (talk) 06:05, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

Flipp Dinero
[edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
Famousbirthsdeaths.com is not a reliable source.
Material from interviews, without support from independent sources, should be used with care. Wikipedia is not simply a soapbox echoing what people say about themselves. --Hipal/Ronz (talk) 01:00, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
- I responded over on Talk:Flipp Dinero. I'm not defending Blasianmanda revert of your revert but I noticed that she did make a good faith effort to address the concerns you raised after you reverted her edits wholesale the first time and her changes were substantial. Before she made those changes the second time, she asked you to help her out and discuss any further issues and improvements. You reverted her without doing that. I see that her edits are not perfect but I also know that she's a newbie working in good faith and I know for a fact that she feels bitten. —mako๛ 07:31, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
Blasianmanda, I'm sorry this has happened. I was not watching the article, but simply saw the repeated use of a clearly unreliable source. BLP articles require the use of high-quality sources. If you are unsure at all about the reliability of a source, check at WP:RSP and WP:RSN. --Hipal/Ronz (talk) 01:05, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
