Wikiproject Cricket Current Scores --> Portal:Cricket
[edit]Hi there! I don't know if you missed my edit summary when I removed the current scores section from the Wikiproject Cricket. I took it out because current scores are not really anything to do with the project, which is more for collaborating on improving Wikipedia's Cricket articles. Can I suggest that you move the section to the Cricket portal, which would be much more suited to this type of content? Thanks, →Ollie (talk • contribs) 00:42, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of International Cricket Council members
[edit]I've left some comments at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of International Cricket Council members. The list has been nominated for some time now, so hopefully if you can resolve them, the nomination will soon be closed. If you have the time, please look at the orange "overtime box" at WP:FLC and review some of the other lists given there, as there is an extremely large backlog in need of review. Notability of Khayelihle Zondo
[edit]A tag has been placed on Khayelihle Zondo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 03:56, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
2008 cricket series pages
[edit]Hello. I've noticed that you have created or updated a number of pages about recent series such as 2008 Associates Tri-Series in Canada and Kenyan cricket team in the Netherlands in 2008.
Could you please ensure that they are all categorised per WP:CRIC standards? The categories should be established on this pattern and should include each of these five types:
- Category:2008 in cricket
- Category:2008 in England
- Category:International cricket competitions in 2008
- Category:New Zealand cricket tours of England
- Category:English cricket seasons from 2001
In addition, these articles are mostly if not entirely statistical and this contravenes WP:NOT#STATS. Articles must be composed of textual content with statistics used sparingly as a supporting material.
I would also draw your attention to WP:FLAG and point out that excessive use of flag icons causes download problems for users, especially those with dial-up connections. Flags emphasise nationality and this distorts the information we are trying to provide. For example, we are telling the reader that Sachin Tendulkar is an Indian batsman, not that he is an INDIAN batsman. Could you therefore please use flag icons sparingly and only if they are really appropriate.

Main page redesign
[edit]Hello, Blackhole77! Wikipedia:2008 main page redesign proposal was recently cleared of all design entries. You may want to re-enter your design(s), based on the details here. (You can see the old list of designs here). NOTE: A survey was conducted on what users wanted to see in the new main page, you can see the results here. WCL Division Four
[edit]Just out of interest, is there any particular reason why you always change the scorecard links for this tournament from the perfectly good scorecards on the official site to those on cricinfo? For full disclosure I must say that I do write for the organisation that is providing the official site, but I am interested in your reasoning. Andrew nixon (talk) 22:09, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Straw poll
[edit]The Main Page Redesign proposal is currently conducting a straw poll in selecting five proposals before an RFC in which it will be against the current main page. You're input would be appreciated. ChyranandChloe (talk) 04:02, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 05:14, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Cricket score updates

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article 2011 Cricket Canada Summer Festival has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable tournament; unsourced
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 02:18, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
