I think that we don't need so many images at Abahlali baseMjondolo. Also, I'm concerned about the legality of many of them. Are they your pictures, or do you have rights to them? If you do, let me know, and I'll fix them so that they aren't deleted. But if they aren't yours, it might be better if you get explicit permission from the owner of the pictures for rights to show them. If you need help with anything (anything at all), let me know. Thanks, I'm enjoying the article and some of your other additions. Smmurphy(Talk) 23:47, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Autoblock

[edit]

Hi Bjorn! If you can edit my talk page, you are certainly not blocked. And if you were blocked, you would find a message on this page telling you why and by whom.

What can happen is something called an autoblock. When we block someone, say for vandalising, the system makes an attempt to stop them by analysing where they are editing from and blocking just that connection. This stops the vandal reappearing elsewhere.

However, some Internet Service Providers (ISP) use a slightly different system of connection that means their users all appear to be coming from one place. When a vandal on your ISP is blocked, you can be given their old address by your ISP. Sadly, you are then given their autoblock. This is annoying to you and certainly not something that pleases us!

In theory, when you're hit by an autoblock, you get a message telling you what has happened. This has some code in it that you can copy-and-paste to this page. This sends a message to all admins telling them to come and look at your page and try to lift the autoblock. We try to do this quickly, but it is dependent on workload how soon we get to the blocked person.

It looks in this case that the autoblock was lifted or expired very quickly. Nevertheless, I'm sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

For quicker service if this happens again, copy the code you see telling you're blocked and save it to this page. Someone will hurry along quicker than waiting for me to come online.

I hope this helps and wish you happy editing in future! RΞDVΞRSЯΞVΞЯSΞ 13:14, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
