[edit]Could someone please tell me why this legitimate entry continues to be deleted? In English, please. (----)
A tag has been placed on Michael Fleming (Attorney), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of Michael Fleming (Attorney) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Arx Fortis (talk) 16:36, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Could someone please tell me why this legitimate post about a former elected official in the third largest county in the nation continues to be deleted, please? (----)
Again, can I get an answer, please? I worked for hours on this?
(----)
- County attorneys are not generally notable; a similar article about, say, the Milwaukee County county attorney (a Democrat) would be similarly deleted, and for the same reason. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:02, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Not notable? I strongly disagree. In a county of almost 4 million people, please.

[edit]Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. Thank you! --Orange Mike | Talk 17:03, 28 October 2008 (UTC) (tildes, not dashes)
Oh, but lawyers who have never served in the public arena are notable? Please. I respectfully disagree.
Hi Birddogbrewer
First, welcome to Wikipedia, if nobody's said so before. Second, when you post to talk pages can you sign your postings, please? You do this by putting four tilde characters at the end of the posting like this ~~~~. They are automatically converted to your username and the time.
If you look at the above postings the reason is given: blatant advertising. The article looks as though it was written to promote the subject, and not write about him neutrally as is required at Wikipedia.
A secondary consideration is the notability of the subject. A former elected official at the country level is not really that significant in the grand scheme of things (Wikipedia has worldwide coverage, remember). Many state level politicians are not covered. As for the rest of his career - basically he's just a lawyer, and there are tens of thousands of those. There are rules and guidelines for notability: see Wikipedia:Notability for more information.
If you need more information please feel free to ask a question at my talk page. Or ask another editor. Have fun editing. DJ Clayworth (talk) 17:05, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
I apologize. --Birddogbrewer (talk) 17:06, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
I see. Well, that is the silliest thing I have ever heard. A former elected official in one of the largest counties in the nation who has argued successfully before the Supreme Court, unlike the VAST majority of attorneys. And, as for self-serving, I disagree totally with that. Wikipedia is FULL of self-serving attorney pages and this comes nowhere near those. I respectfully disagree with this decision and feel that it is motivated by pettiness and partisanship. Mr. Fleming is referenced on a page about the University of St. Thomas. --Birddogbrewer (talk) 17:09, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
