User talk:BioLinkBot
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "BioLinkBot", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it contains the suffix "-bot", which is generally reserved for authorized bot accounts. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. -- Diannaa (talk) 00:58, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
Hello, I deliberately used the term BOT since I want this account to be used by a PHP Bot I'm creating. I thought adding BOT in the username was the only thing to do to identify the account as a Bot one. Is there anything else to do ?
I'm also about to try to get this Bot account confirmed here WP:PERM/C. Is it correct ? I would like to be able to edit my sandbox to test my Bot code but I think I'm blocked by Captcha challenges since the account is not confirmed. Thanks in advance. -- BioLinkBot
- You need to post a request at the Bot Approvals Group. DS (talk) 02:35, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
Done, thank you for your help. -- BioLinkBot

.Under the bot policy, bot accounts should only be used to make approved automated edits. Human edits should be made from your user account instead. This account may be unblocked when the Bot Approvals Group has approved a task for this bot for trial.

Request reason:
If I'm not wrong, the bot has be blocked because I've been making the request connected under this account, sorry for that.
Just to clarify the purpose of this account is only to be used by the bot and not to perform any human edits. I'm new to Wikipedia bot creation and I'm learning the process a little bit more everyday. I'm actually not sure if I should make this unblock statement here or on my User talk page but since the block message is here I'm doing it here.
I don't think that the denial was due to a lack of interest in the value of the bot or a policy problem. I will briefly describe its purpose again anyway.
The bot adds an external link on various Australian artists page that will link to the "Design and Art Australia Online" website. The DAAO is a collaborative e-Research tool built upon the foundations of the Dictionary of Australian Artists Online. This is an open source freely accessible tool hosting biographical data about Australian artists, designers, craftspeople and more.
The interest in Wikipedia is, as far as I see it, not only to deliver information on topics but provide various trustworthy resources on those topics. Having a minimum of relevant external links gives the opportunity for users to cross reference information and make Wikipedia richer in general.

Decline reason:
This account was blocked because the bot has not been approved and should not edit; particularly you should not use this account to edit manually. As the reviewer of the bot request said, "Please spend some time as a normal editor, editing articles, and come back in a few months if you still want to run a bot." If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
