This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Glen Gilmore (polo player), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.australianpolo.com.au/apc/profiles.asp.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Speedy deletion nomination of Glen Gilmore (polo player)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Glen Gilmore (polo player) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Steven Lamprell
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Steven Lamprell requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles – see the Article Wizard.

to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Notability
[edit]Seriously, is every polo player who ever graced a team in the last 100 years notable? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:36, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
Yes, a lot of players are notable and of great interest to people who are involved in polo.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
- Perhaps, but Wikipedia is not a polo directory, it is an encyclopedia. Are these people generally notable, according to the guidelines of WP:BIO or even WP:GNG? Where is the significant coverage? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:00, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
The fact is that to achieve a polo handicap above 7 or above puts you in the top 1% of your playing generation also to play for your country for any sport is worthy of notability. The polo players that I have created articles for have done one or both of those two. In one or two exceptions I have created an article for an individual, who, may be notable to the sport's community but is more notable for their extra-polo achievements. I have written on a number of players who were at the forefront of the game between 1900 and 1940 and during this time the sport was at the height of its popularity. Players received celebrity status and the articles and books I have provided as reference prove this. For more information I would refer you to 'The World of Polo, past and present' by J. N. P.Watson; 'The Evolution of Polo' by Horace A. Laffaye and 'Profiles in Polo: The Players Who Changed the Game' also by Horace A. Laffaye . These books provide a good insight into the status and notability of the worlds top players during the last 140 years. They also reference to a large number of sources that I regrettably am not aware of how to reference on Wikipedia. Also I have found that the New York Times Archives have a huge number of very helpful articles from the first half of the last century referring to polo. 'Polo Quarterly Magazine' have endeavoured to record biographic information on the international players and competitions of past and present. However, no one has taken the time to include this information on the publicly accessible forum of Wikipedia. Wikipedia is obviously not a polo directory, it is an encyclopaedia and therefore it should include a full description of polo, its history and its most notable players.
- I agree with Bill, great job. Bill, let me know (on my talkpage) if you're still around and perhaps we can work together on some more articles. I don't have Laffaye's very useful books with me though.Zigzig20s (talk) 20:10, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Wikidata
[edit]Don't forget that entries not welcome at Wikipedia are still welcome at Wikidata. See a polo entry here Maurice John Kingscote. You can still link to the Wikidata entry from Wikipedia at the Roehampton Trophy. Some people will just be a one or two sentence article, but those entries are welcome at Wikidata. You can also suggest polo related fields such as their handicap. We can also create fields for polo references that contain biographical information. And don't forget there are still polo entries at Flickr Commons from the Library of Congress that need context added to them like this one, that was partially solved. Here is another Wikidata entry for someone with almost no info: H. H. Harrison--RAN (talk) 18:09, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
