Hey I just used the links you gave me and set up a full template thing (the first one I made by myself - well, i coppied the code, but I PUT THE IMAGES AND TEXT IN!!!!!), thanks a lot for your help!! Danielfolsom 01:39, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
I understand that I am not voting and that I am not limited by the original nomination. When I looked at the category, there were 3 articles in it. I realized that you mentioned that they were likely to be moved during the course of the nomination (that's actually why I went and looked). I also realize that a merge of an empty category generally works the same as a delete. I'm not sure what wasn't clear about in my previous comment. I am comfortable with my Merge opinion in this case. ~ BigrTex 21:14, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Firstly, I don't understand what you're suggesting we "merge." I'd already explained that the category was unused (and only contained those articles because of a technical glitch). Now the category is literally empty, so a merger is impossible.
- Secondly, I'd already explained that the category (when it was active) served the purpose presently served by Category:Uncategorized. The nominator mistakenly believed that it was an active duplicate of Category:Category needed and proposed merging it with that. You've expressed agreement, but if a merger were needed, it would be with Category:Uncategorized. Of course, a merger isn't needed (given the fact that there's absolutely nothing to merge). —David Levy 21:48, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Space Pirates
It's not meant to be a webhost, just an information page.
I didnt mean it was an official webpage for Space Pirates, just the only page with this depth of information on it.
Wikipedia is for information, and that's all this is used for. Information on the concept and characters.
Regarding Space Pirates deletion.
Im not yet sure how to "discuss" a topic, so this is my best shot at keeping my page from being deleted.
Just tell me what needs to be deleted on the page to make it acceptable for Wikipedia. This page is a necessity, I have to have at least the information of the characters and plot, and pictures of the characters.
Anything else that needs deleted can be. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Space Pirates (talk • contribs) 03:59, 13 January 2007 (UTC).
A temporary request.
Alright, I understand that I shouldnt use Wikipedia as an information site for Space Pirates.
I have a request, though. We've just started up, and the situation with the concept is that it's under consideration at Adult Swim for a new program. It's been given to the submissions committee, and we're awaiting approval or denial.
My request is that we get a few weeks to keep Space Pirates here. I know it's not allowed on a general basis, but it would be a great help if we can use it temporarily until we can put together a website.
Obviously I cant begrudge you deleting it anyway, this is merely a request.
Just a few weeks. Either until we get an answer from Adult Swim, or we get a website for Space Pirates.
If you cant do it, I understand, and thank you for taking the time to hear me out. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Space Pirates (talk • contribs) 05:58, 13 January 2007 (UTC).
Alright, we're go for deletion.
I moved everything to a Wikifarm, BluWiki.
Thanks for all the info, we now have an official website for the Space Pirates information.

Images for Deletion
Thanks for the heads up. As far as the Real World: San Francisco images, it seems that someone capriciously removed them from that article back in November, without any reason given, and restored the badly-cropped ones that were there previously. I restored those. As for those in your second message to me, those were replaced by other images or the articles have otherwise evolved without them legitimately. Thanks :-) Nightscream 23:39, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Space Pirates Discussion ==
There are three rules for articles on Wikipedia:
- WP:V (Verifiability) - The information should be published by reliable sources so that if another editor has a question they can go and confirm it. This is the basis for the notability guidelines.
- WP:NOR (No original research) - My interpretation of this overlaps a lot with verifiability. This also is the basis for WP:NFT (Wikipedia is not for things made up in school one day).
- WP:NPOV (Neutral point of view) - We need to present both sides of an argument. This is the basis for our guideline on autobiographical material (don't start/contribute to articles about yourself or your creations).
There is a lot of overlap between these. They are also for material in the main space (i.e. Space Pirates) not the User space, where the information now appears. My advice if you want to try to keep this material is to move it to the Space Pirates page, and include links to third party coverage (websites, media, etc). Try to make it sound 'encyclopedic' - like a newspaper article about why Space Pirates is different and remove first person pronouns and requests for support.
I haven't gone out and looked at your myspace page, but it seems like the content that you've posted here would make a lot more sense somewhere like myspace or geocities, and you could include a link to that page from the article here.
The underlying problem is that Wikipedia is not a medium for advertising new things, it is a place for information about reasonably well-known things. When Space Pirates there will be fans coming out from all over to create an article for it here and there will be more leniency about keeping it, but until it is well known, the community is leery of it.
There are bands who started this week. The first thing they did was to create a myspace page and a Wikipedia article. If they break up next week, myspace doesn't care. Their myspace page will still be there 5 or 10 years from now. Wikipedia would rather not have their article today because we're confident that when they go on their first national tour in 5 years, they'll be notable enough to meet the notability guidelines for a Wikipedia page, and any verifiable information from this weekend will still be available then.
I hope that this helps you understand. If you want to keep this as a User page you can participate in the discussion, just go to Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Space Pirates click the edit button at the top, add a bullet (*) to the last empty line at the bottom and present your case. ~ BigrTex 06:11, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Websites ==
Wow. I hadn't realized that I was working on that post for an hour. It's not up to me whether or not your page is deleted. If there is a consensus in the discussion after a period of time (I think it is 5 days), then an administrator will delete it. You can provide your side at the discussion.
I would recommend that you go ahead and create a website now. There are plenty of places online where you can get a domain for $35/year and host a website for another $5-10/month. There are also places (like geocities and myspace) where you can create a website for free.
If you're more comfortable with wiki markup than html markup, then there is a List of wiki farms some of which are also free, and most of which are less stringent about acceptable content than Wikipedia.
I wish you the best with your endeavor. ~ BigrTex 06:20, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

I've skimmed through the pictures and got the following ideas:
- MM curve.jpg - if this graph quality is acceptable then incorporate into Reaction rate. Otherwise delete.
- Quin active site copy.jpg - keep and incorporate into Active site
- DFP reaction3.jpg - incorporate into Enzyme
- Hexokinase ball and stick model, with substrates to scale.png - incorporate into Hexokinase
- Phenylalanine hydroxylase.jpg - incorp as suggested before
- HIV protesase with ritonavir.png - incorporate into protease
- Nucleosome with DNA as ribbon.jpg, Nucleosome with spacefill DNA.jpg - incorp to Nucleosome or related articles
The others could be deleted, either due to possible plagiarism, unknown utility or improper filename. --Deryck C. 00:21, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
I submitted a photo to sexual objectification of women in panties heels and nothing else vacuuming; it's of a fashion show by Imitation of Christ, a well-known label. Several editors want NO images on the page, but I think this one is pretty clear: at a fashion show, these topless models vacuuming in heels shows women objectified sexually. Could you interject with your opinion please? Talk:Sexual_objectification#Request_for_Comment--DavidShankBone 04:08, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
My orphaned images
Hello thanks for notifying me of these orphaned images. The reason they are orphaned is because I haven't added the relevant parts to the article Mind, Body & Kick Ass Moves. The pics relate to points in the series which I haven't had time to add to the article, I am currently working on completing the article so the images can be added. I will remove the tag from the images so they are not deleted and will add them to the article as soon as the relevant info has been added.--NeilEvans 19:55, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- after reviewing the article and images I realised that the article already is covered by the images on the page, and the images were ones I uploaded but to put them in the article would cause too much clutter, so I reverted the tags and they can be deleted. Sorry.--NeilEvans 20:18, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, lost my temper!
Sorry about that. let me defend my point a little more civilly. Could the intrepretation of satire on feudalism be replaced by more general terms about organized violence? I accept that the comment on fuedalism, which seemed a truism to me, does not actually follow Wikipedia guidelines. But the chances of finding its source seem to be pretty small, and the general point of containing satirical content is a point I don't want to see lost altogether. Willing to do research.
My curiousity has been piqued about Bad Sir Brian Botany and I'd rather research and perhaps start an entry (or stub?) on this poem, if the story is accurate. A Texan friend of mine introduced me to the Bunny Foo Foo song, in German!
I didn't realize it was sung in English in the US at all!

Thanks for the comments on my talk page. I just want to state two things briefly:
- People are expected to use category talk pages before CFD, to show courtesy. I know I do, and I know many others who do as well. There's nothing wrong with using them, and they actually allow a conversation to occur with less pressure.
- Users at Wikipedia are actually encouraged to be bold (but not reckless) , so it seems like if my action encourages them to be bold and also think things out as I did, that's a good thing. This seems like you're doing the complete opposite of what the Wikipedia policy page suggests.--Urthogie 04:06, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

New NRHP Collaboration Division
Hey, saw you were a participant in the National Register of Historic Places WikiProject. I thought I would let you know that there is a new Collaboration Division up for the project. The goal of the division is to select an article or articles for improvement to Good article standard or higher. There is a simple nomination process, which you can check out on the division subpage, to make sure each candidate for collaboration has enough interested editors. This is a good way to get a lot of articles to a quality status quickly. Please consider participating. More details can be seen at the division subpage. IvoShandor 11:01, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Image Tagging for Image:Cavallino-Stemma.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Cavallino-Stemma.png. However, the copyright tag you've used is deprecated or obsolete, and should not be used. This could be because the tag is inaccurate or misleading, or because it does not adequately specify the copyright status of the image. Image uploaded before May 4, 2006? You added this to the images below. Can you explain what this has to do with anything? - Yes no stolen images since 2005 under that ID. Today I listed some 'GeneralPatton' stole from David Irvings site some of his last copyright violations under that ID. Notice that 'GeneralPatton' claims the images are public domain, yet for two of them the copyright holder details are clearly listed on the pages he stole them from. The other two are clearly taken by journalists.
- While im glad 'GeneralPatton' ceased uploading images (under that ID), I do wonder about the suspected sock who merrily carries on deliberately obfuscate image copyright status much like 'GeneralPatton' did. Even now that his suspected sock has been made aware of the copyright violations he just continues uploading images lol.
- I'll skip addressing why enforcing the letter of the policy rather than the spirit is a wrongheaded, foolish concept. If you had expressed any concern over blatant copyright infringement I might have been inclined to take your thoughts on the matter more seriously. It is also worth mentioning that no admin is above the law, but following from your comment I will report my suspicions and see what lies at the bottom of this. Dee Mac Con Uladh 15:05, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes serious charges against an admin but an admin is not Christ resurrected. An admin is someone with a lot of time to waste and extra weight to throw around. Expertise in subject areas isnt even required to get the job. So tell me, if I wade through hundreds of diffs to establish the same modus operandi between smith & patton would it be wise of me to trust the ranks of admin to address such a problem? As you already hinted, the chances of the ranks closing and seeing no problem are much more likely. However for copyright holders, of which I am one, the root problem of this persons copyright theft would remain.
- smith2006 was caught redhanded stealing images (over 20 sourced so far on Jkelly Talk), he has not been removed from the project. The copyright holder of the Frentz images, UllsteinBild, had previously threated to sue wikipedia over hosting their material. When Ullstein threatened legal action every Frentz image was removed from every wiki within 24hrs. Compare that result to the hours I have spent trolling policy hoops policed by casual amateurs. Compare my time wasted in this process to the time an unidentified thief called 'smith2006' took to scan and upload the work of other people and "donate" it to the world as if he had a hand in its creation. Clearly, the process is a joke.
- As I am reluctant to waste anymore of my time, I will in future email respective copyright holders CC'ing the WWW nerve center of Wool, Wales, and Wikia. When the WWW "we wont tell/we didnt know" defense evaporates (as it did with Ullstein previously) results can be expected within hours, not weeks. Dee Mac Con Uladh 16:41, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
