Please dont delete this... my friends where just making fair comment... nothing was meant maliciously.
Whilst slightly humourous in nature the content was largely factual, in my eyes this amounts to censorship, which I am dead against. And I think is against the Wiki spirit... as this is my first foray into the wiki world I find it disheartening to have provoked such a heavy handed reaction, which I feel may prevent me from further engagement in the Wiki movement. This level of disenfranchisment is unfair in the heady days of an internet dominated by web 2.0.
So please I ask simply to let me police the page, as it is after all about me. I will ensure nothing offensive appears and on the whole is a credit to wikipedia and its affiliates,

- Please be aware of our policy on Biographies of living persons. Anything that looks like an attack on an individual or is contentious is likely to be removed. We ask you to respect this policy which ensures Wikipedia remains fair to everyone. Please also review the policy on what is NOT allowed on here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on my talk page. → AA (talk) — 14:37, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- Also, you should review the guidelines on what is and is not allowed on your user page. → AA (talk) — 14:40, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- 'Some people add information about themselves as well, possibly including contact information (email, instant messaging, etc), a photograph, their real name, their location, information about their areas of expertise and interest, likes and dislikes, homepages, and so forth.' 'As a tradition, Wikipedia offers wide latitude to users to manage their user space as they see fit. However, pages in user space still do belong to the community:'
- I feel by deleting this page you are not adhereing to your own guidelines. Please in the interests of fairness and respecting your own guidelines please reinstate it and all comments at your earliest opportunity. There is absolutley nothing about this page that is A not true and B in contavention of your guidelines.Bigdanprice 15:01, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- You are free to add information about yourself per the guidelines you've quoted above. However, where the information relates to another individual, you must adhere to the BLP policy. As you've indicated that the information on your userpage was not about you, I removed it because it could potentially be libellous - although I don't doubt that the person may be your friend and the information may be correct. However, the BLP policy is very prescriptive. → AA (talk) — 15:09, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
→ AA (talk) — 15:14, 2 November 2007 (UTC)Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material — whether negative, positive, or just questionable — about living persons should be removed immediately and without discussion from Wikipedia articles, talk pages, user pages, and project space.
You have misunderstood. I am Dan Price. I was writing in the third person, which is a literary technique we employ to lend weight and authority to a passage of biographical writing, much as Caesar did in his famous tomes describing his victories in the Gallic Wars. So if you could help me out and replace what was there, then I will be more than happy to amend the page so as people are aware of the nature of the page. Whats more whilst some contributors may have been overly light hearted, they were in no way offensive and frankly I would like to be the judge of what is libelous against myself. I am pleased this is a misunderstanding, and was not an overly heavy handed response. I look forward to your reply and reinstatment of my user page. Thanks.Bigdanprice 15:17, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- As requested, I have restored the content. Please do ensure it conforms to WP:USER and does not tread on the toes of WP:BLP or WP:NOT. We get many hundreds of articles a day that are created with the sole purpose of attacking another person which is why editors tend to take action first (per BLP guidelines). However, I trust your userpage will not give rise to such concerns and again, welcome to Wikipedia. → AA (talk) — 15:29, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your understanding it is much appreciated, sorry if i sounded a little indignant, but I was frustrated. Thanks for your help, I will try my best to keep it all ship shape.Bigdanprice 15:32, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- No problem at all and I applaud your use of English - I guess expected from someone working for the Liverpool Echo :) Wikipedia could do with your services at Portal:Literature or WikiProject League of Copyeditors. → AA (talk) — 15:45, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi Thanks for taking a look, I have had another go at getting some better sources. If you could give me some guidance I would be really appreciative, Thanks Dan. Bigdanprice (talk) 15:59, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
- Unfortunately none of the sources meet the criteria required to show that the subject meets the general notability guidelines. The guideline states that sources must be reliable, independent and offer significant coverage. Rick's own homepage, his Justgiving page and LBC are not independent. The Cardiomyopathy page only briefly mentions him, so is not significant coverage (and is arguably not independent). Finally web forums are not considered reliable sources. Try taking a look at Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources and Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Reliable sources for ideas of what to be looking for. Regards, AJCham 21:58, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
