Hi and welcome!

[edit]

Hi Bigbrain500! Welcome to Wikipedia. I checked out the draft you wrote at Draft:Sonay Kartal, and I appreciate how you took care to write with a neutral perspective and to cite your sources, which are two core principles on Wikipedia (you can check out the pages at Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:Verifiability to see the formal statements of those principles) - great job on those.

It looks like it got declined because of a third principle, "notability". There's a checklist at Wikipedia:Notability (sports)#Tennis that explains the accomplishments that a tennis player must have already achieved before they are eligible for their own Wikipedia article, and I encourage checking it out. From what I can see from your cited sources, it looks like she's well on her way, but may not be far enough in her career yet to qualify. But you know the subject better than I do, and I'd definitely encourage reviewing that checklist and seeing if you can document her as meeting those qualifications.

Even if she's not "notable" enough for her own article yet, I'd encourage reviewing related articles about tennis and seeing if you'd like to improve them, such as adding cited sentences about her to other articles where her accomplishments are relevant, or making other improvements to topics that you know well and care about.

Please let me know if you have any questions that I could help with - you can write a comment on this page or on my talk page at User talk:Dreamyshade. Thanks for being here! Dreamyshade (talk) 17:12, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Great to add more sources to the article you're working on. To help you and other editors evaluate the depth of the sourcing, I worked a little on converting a few of the raw URLs to fully-formatted citations. That makes the references easier to review at a glance to figure out which ones are from news sources, which are from databases, etc. Are you using Visual Editor Help:VisualEditor? It has a tool for adding citations that I find a lot easier than "source" editing, and you might find it helpful - check out Help:VisualEditor#Adding a new reference.
