[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Siawase (talk) 14:29, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Re: External link to lornaparis.com on Black Doll article removed
[edit]Hello, thank you for your message. Looking at Wikipedia's guideline on links normally to be avoided, the issue with the link is not just that the site is promotional in nature, but also that it's too narrow in scope, since it's dealing with an individual artist while the article is an overview of black dolls in general. Quote the guideline: "a website on a specific subject should usually not be linked from an article about a general subject." If you disagree with my judgement, you may want to ask for further opinions at the External links noticeboard. Siawase (talk) 16:52, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Okay I understand now! Thanks for the clarification.
