Thomas.W (talk) The image is the logo of the company. It is a a copyrighted logo but was used for the purpose of showing the latest iteration. I am sorry if this broke terms of service, I had been given permission by the graphics people who designed it. I apologize for this connfution.

Information icon Hello, I'm Ferret. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. -- ferret (talk) 17:07, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You need to cease with the spamming of CGMagazine while the ANI discussion concerning these additions continues. -- ferret (talk) 17:09, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I recommend you stop breaking the templates on Realm of the Mad God by reverting where I fixed them. -- ferret (talk) 17:23, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Atama 17:27, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

CGMagazine is a valid source, if my posts broke terms of service I am sorry. I will ensure to avoid this sort of thing in the future. I am new to the service and was not aware of all the rules. Bfrye26 (talk) 17:31, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

WP:SPAM and WP:PROMO are bad. So is WP:COI and not telling the truth. Your source is unacceptable, and nevertheless it's wholly unacceptable for YOU to be linking to it. There's nothing in your contributions or your statements that give any warm fuzzies about your ability to do anything other than spam the project the panda ₯’ 23:56, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Two points: (1) The executive editor of the publication is Brendan Frye, bfrye26; (2) A finding that you work for the publication is not necessary to sustain a finding that you were engaged in disruptive promotion of the publication. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 17:34, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

And a third point: It seems that subsequent to this block, Cody Orme was afflicted with an autoblock, meaning that these users were editing from the same IP address. Seems fairly conclusive to me. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 17:38, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I want to add a bit more to my reason for blocking. Not only have you been spamming Wikipedia with links to your web site (and yes, we know that it's yours, your suggestions to the contrary are clearly false), but you did so back in 2007 (see here) when you linked to an interview that was hosted on the Lucid Forge site (and yes, I know that was also a site of yours back then Brendan). Secondly, you repeatedly broke a reference to a competitor's site, and edit-warred in doing so (here and here). Your intentions here are clear, and they are not in the best interests of Wikipedia. -- Atama 19:09, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Atama (talk) I never linked to any article I published personally, and if you look though my edits you will see, not only did I post links that i felt were valid. I am not the writer on any post I had listed, since I know that is against policy. I also ensured to repair some miss quoted reviews on the The Lego the Hobbit where IGN was listed with a false score. I did back in the day list the fall out boy article, although at the time I was not aware this was an issue. I did not receive a report about these actions to my knowledge. As for edits to the Comics and Gaming Magazine page I did not make this page, i just discovered it. I noticed some things listed where wrong and links to the distributor etc where not listed. I wanted to ensure everything was correct. I also apologize for these issues, as the edits i was trying to make to Realm of the Mad god was me trying to revert what looked like wrong code. Once he mentioned that there was no need for the fix, I halted all work on that. I did not intend to break any reference as you will see, I actually fixed it on Lego: The Hobbit. Many of the writers that work at CGMagazine also work at IGN and I frequently talk to many people that work at IGN since we often see each other at events. I do thank you for your efforts, you help keep Wikipedia clear of issue, if you had reached out and let me know this as a warning I would have been happy to stop any posting on here. Thank you for your time.

Any post I was editing where written by writers that infact do work at IGN or other sources you guys say are legitimate. Wayne Santos the Editor of the magazine can be seen here: http://ca.ign.com/articles/2007/10/20/rock-band-ps3-hands-on
