- And your subsequent edit was reverted by me. Do not blank a page and then add an Afd notice. Please follow the instructions on WP:AFD and do not blank the page prior to nominating. Page blanking is vandalism. KillerChihuahua?!? 19:33, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
Dulwich College Visitor
[edit]Hello, I notice that you have removed references to the Archbishop of Canterbury as Visitor to the school. As far as I am aware, and have found in histories on the school etc, the Archbishop remains at least the Honorary Visitor of the school. However, I do not want to continuously revert edits if you are sure that he does not. Was there some point when the Archbishop ceased to have this position that you are specifically aware of?Kwib 19:34, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. The position of Visitor for the College of God's Gift in Surrey has been in existance since before the school's official founding date and the Archbishop of Canterbury has fileld that role ever since. However, on closer inspection of the texts, it apears that in 1882 the Archbishop's position shifted from that of Visitor to Honorary Visitor, his powers being vested in the Charity Commissioners (in a scheme drawn up by the Charity Commissioners). Additionally, the position of Visitor and Honarary Visitor is to the Charitable Foundation rather than the school. Therefore, I believe that you are correct in questioning the fact that the title is in the infobox because the position no longer performs the function it once did prior to 1882 and I would not propose putting it back there.Kwib 21:18, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Bensonby! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 12 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- John Ritblat - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
