Jos Carnival moved to draftspace

Hi BennyCapricorn. I think you may have already discovered that after you have made ten edits to Wikipedia over a period of four days you are able to create new articles. However just because you can doesn't mean you should. Creating new articles is hard, because there are guidelines that you must follow. Having made ten small changes to other articles won't give you the skills you need to write a good article. Instead, please create WP:DRAFTs, and when you think the article is ready you can submit it for review and an experienced editor will check it. If it is ok then it will be approved, and if not then you'll be told what you need to change.

In the case of the Jos Carnival article, you first need to be sure that it is a WP:notable topic. Then you need to make sure that the statements you make in the article are verifiable. You do this by adding citations to reliable, independent sources. Next, you need to make sure that what you have written is in a neutral tone, which means writing it as if you're disinterested. That is harder if you are involved in the carnival in some way. Are you? Lastly, Wikipedia has a manual of style which you should read at least part of, so that you know how articles should be laid out.

Going back to notability, you should demonstrate this by using references that provide independent, reliable coverage, such as in national newspapers. The coverage needs to be in depth, and the journalist shouldn't just repeat what someone involved in the carnival said about it - they should provide their own commentary or analysis (see WP:SECONDARY). If the journalist interviews someone from the carnival, then that's not independent coverage.

Once you have WP:THREE good, independent, reliable sources that have written in depth, secondary analysis of the event then it may be time to submit the draft for review.

Thank you very much Curb Safe Charmer. I will take a few days to thoroughly go through all the recommendations you requested. Check my mistakes and especially the writing style (a very neutral style of writing). I have not attended the carnival before. The citations/references are verifiable and are national dailies.

I really want to make here one of my favourite places. I have a thing for learning and I am very certain this Wikipedia community would make me a better writer and contributor if I sincerely put in hardwork and dedication.BennyCapricorn (talk) 18:20, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
