List of sex positions image

I'm sorry that you have been discouraged by our discussion over that image. I hope you don't think I was trying to endlessly quibble or battle with you or "win", I was just trying to reach a mutually agreeable solution, while still following Wikipedia guidelines and policy. Maybe you felt like my repeated citations of WP:Profanity meant I personally feel the image is profane... but I don't in actuality. That guideline is unfortunately titled; it gives the impression that one is calling the image "profane" merely by citing the guideline. Just to be clear: I'm not personally offended by the image at all. I am bi, after all. Anyway, I certainly respect your wishes to divert your energy to more productive work. I just hope you aren't left with the impression that I try to "win" at all costs. I honestly don't usually look at Wikipedia discussions as "me vs. them", it's just a process of consensus-building. I apologize if I didn't come across as consensus-building. If I didn't, I'll try to improve that in the future. -kotra (talk) 20:17, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

By the way, if you happen to be wondering about my frequent interactions with you lately on various articles, it isn't because I'm stalking you! I found the List of sex positions thing via Wikipedia:Editor_assistance/Requests#Just_a_photo, I'd watchlisted Public sex since January, and the other stuff is all related to CadenS. I'm not obsessed with your barnstar-laden, highly productive self! Indubitably. -kotra (talk) 20:28, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Logical Premise/editorluv. Thanks. -- how do you turn this on 21:23, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Jeffree Star article, I'd note that references 20 and 21 are cited as "Ryan Couldrey" when they're actually sourced on blogTO.com as "Ryan C". Verifiable by checking the links they reference. Probably the same person but there were a number of Ryans writing for the site at the time. (note from someone arepping as Couldrey). -- Banjeboi

Google Watch screen shot?

Are you sure that's correct? It doesn't look like what I see. What URL is the shot from? -- Kendrick7talk 16:49, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

oops, obviously my computer did something wrong! - LOL. Seriously though feel free to snap a better copy and upload it. -- Banjeboi 16:55, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
OK, done. BTW, I don't believe web screen shots need to be low res; at least no one has complained about the one I made for Scroogle yesterday yet. -- Kendrick7talk 17:08, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Agreed, thanks for updating it. -- Banjeboi 17:10, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Benji, this edit was not vandalism, so it's not nice to revert with that message in the edit summary - Alison 01:45, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia. I'm sorry but it's fairly obvious this person(s) has this article in their crosshairs and doesn't care to discuss the issues but simply revert. Per WP:Lede we shouldn't add gender identity as the 1st sentence; I've placed it in the 2nd (lede only has two sentences) and I believe it is clear and accurate. I'm certainly open to other ideas and have stated so. Per WP:MOS date and common words aren't suppose to be linked. If this were the first time - fine. But this is violating MOS and doing so repeatedly with no net gain to the article or project. -- Banjeboi 01:51, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
So it's not "vandalism", but a content dispute. Okaay - Alison 02:20, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
I see you blocked this last one before - would you be willing to address this with them or should I send it to AIV? I doubt any message I do will be received well. -- Banjeboi 01:54, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Please try discussing the matter with them first before involving others. They're obviously trying to be constructive and any appeal to AIV right now will just get punted - Alison 02:20, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm happy to discuss and come up with something that doesn't violate MOS, this user has only reverted so I don't find that terribly acceptable. I suppose I can clean up the talk page and then clearly spell out why we don't write things as such. If it didn't violate policy it would simply be a stylistic issue which is then a content issue or stylistic issue between editors. It will take time before I can write it all up so it may be a day or to. I do appreciate your note to them. -- Banjeboi 02:16, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
No problem :) It's already dodgy territory and we've debated this one before. If they hop back in and blindly revert, I'll likely apply for them to be blocked (I can't as I'm editing there). Maybe we need to revisit that whole first para. Some editors on the talk page were concerned that it was misleading and confusing, and that was my original rationale for changing it. Thanks again! - Alison 02:23, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: rename

Hi! Thanks for bringing it up to my notice. I figured out what went wrong the previous time. Apparently, the username request in the template started with a lower case "g" instead of the "G". I was not aware that the rename function was case-sensitive with the first letter. Therefore, when it gave me a false positive success, I marked it as done. I have now fixed it. =Nichalp «Talk»= 04:53, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Topic ban appeal

As the person who convinced you to let this archive on Jimbo's page, I just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten. It's almost been a month, and I was wondering if you had heard back from him. I'm fairly certain you'd be justified in asking him for a heads up and reminding him that he said he'd look into things for you. True, he may have looked into things and decided nothing needed to be changed, but I think you at least deserve to hear that from him. I hope things work out the way you want. AniMate 05:03, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

I've heard absolutely nothing and based on my experiences with this entire drama I don't expect vindication, justice or even an apology. It would be nice but I'm not holding my breath. It would also be nice if no one was even banned, especially permanently, ever without some process that suggests they have earned such a thing. Instead I've been served a steaming pile of bad faith by those entrusted to do otherwise. Of all the transphobic and homophobic attacks nothing has caused me more stress here than this. -- Banjeboi 23:58, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

LGBT GA Review - on hold

Hello! I've GA reviewed LGBT for you. The article would almost have passed, if not for a problem with an image that can be seen here. I have left a comment - I suggest you do the same. I am placing the article on an indefinite hold, until the problem with the image is resolved. Hoping your topic ban is overturned soon, weebiloobil (talk) 21:16, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

(sigh). Yes, I try to use images from commons to avoid this issue but it looks like that should be deleted from over there. I've tried to address the rest of the issues as well. -- Banjeboi 01:04, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
The article has now passed its GA. Well done! Be careful, though - we don't want the new pictures to go the same way as the old ones - weebiloobil (talk) 22:15, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

Benjiboi,

Thanks for your help with James Dobson--would you be interested in helping me get it to GA? Jclemens (talk) 19:04, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm afraid I find that subject to be fanatically right-wing, bigoted as well as anti-gay and presently the article seems way too POV for me to step in and have to quibble on which points of rhetoric are notable and how to present them. As a suggestion, I would start with google books as there has been plenty written about him. When Dobson dies, I imagine the obituaries will echo similar sentiments as when Jesse Helms died; a flawed but extremely successful person who leveraged hatred against minorities to build his religious-based empire. Frankly I see anything but cursory visits there as inducing the kind of stress that isn't helpful to me. I appreciate you asking but I just don't see that investment in my energy as being a good thing. -- Banjeboi 21:00, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your honesty. I know Dobson's article fails to reflect all views of him, that's the issue I hope to correct sometime. If you think of any other LGBT editors who would be comfortable helping me accomplish this, feel free to send them my direction. Jclemens (talk) 21:42, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
You might post at WT:LGBT even if it's to get seeveral folks to take a quick look and offer input. -- Banjeboi 22:10, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
