Robert frost edit
Hello, the Robert Frost edit I recently made to his major works section was not a test. If you look at the article for the portion of the text edited, you will see that I placed it in the right category in my edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hikingkyle393 (talk • contribs) 12:07, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
- Well that's not how the wikicode must be used. You have quite old account but by edit count, you are a new comer to us. So you may go through this page before having more edits. Also remember to have a preview of your edit before saving it. Thank you. The herald 12:14, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Suspect the window has closed for a bit. Generally speaking with astro pictures - since so many could bee featured - people get excited for a bit, thenn lose interest, unfortunately. Adam Cuerden (talk) 07:36, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

Image that has an incorrect ID
Hi, Herald - what is the process for tagging an incorrectly identified photograph? The photo labeled "shortnose sturgeon" is not a shortnose sturgeon. It is a lake sturgeon, but I don't know how to get it corrected. See it here 32 Atsme☯ talk 13:17, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
- By moving the file by clicking move from the tab above the file and submitting a request to a file mover...The herald`
- I looked all over everywhere, and cannot find a tab above the file (at Commons) that allows for a "move" command. Below the image it has an "add note" button, and above it the menu bar states: Nominate this image for QIFile * File history * File usage on Commons * File usage on other wikis - nothing that says "move". Atsme☯ talk 13:54, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

- @Atsme:But the rename request is cancelled because I haven't given any proof for the same. So please provide one. Then I may contact the uploader and do it easily...The herald 13:32, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
- Not sure what kind of proof to provide. Would other photos of short nose sturgeon work? There is a stark difference between the two. Shortnose sturgeon have a round short snout while the snout or a young lake sturgeon curves upward like a ski jump. Atsme☯ talk 20:15, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
- See the following image of a short nose to see the stark differences: 33 Then look at the photo of a young lake sturgeon: 34. The name, Shortnose Sturgeon (Acipenser brevirostrum) - brevirostrum tells us the fish has an abbreviated rostrum, or short nose. I don't suppose we could say the image that is incorrectly identified is actually a digitized freeze frame from a video I shot of lake sturgeon in an aquarium, and later licensed to USF&WS for public domain use. That would probably require having to research my stock footage archives, and licensing permits, plus who knows what all else would be involved. I am just troubled by the fact that the image shows up in Google image searches as a short nose sturgeon when in fact it's a young lake sturgeon. Atsme☯ talk 20:25, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
- Well, I ain't an expert in Zoology. I think to ping someone with the knowledge in the matter or even the creator him/herself..

Removing references with dead links
In general we don't remove references with dead links. Instead we usually add the |archivedate=
and |archiveurl=
parameters and use them to link to either a WayBackMachine or WebCitation archive URL. Only if no archive copy can be found do we tag the reference with the dead link template. This flags up that an editor should take a deeper look for a replacement URL or for an alternative reference.
Of the various references you recently deleted in the "Voyager 1" article, all but two either had a usable archive copy already stored in the WayBackMachine or were not in fact "dead". Those references have now been re-included and the two with "really dead links" are now marked using the dead link template, ready for further investigation. -- 79.67.241.201 (talk) 20:37, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
