Hi Ben I saw your note on Talk:Dyslexia, and your edits seem fine to me, although self-promtion of websites, can be questionable. Don't be suprised if the the link is removed. Also there is no need to list your credintials in edit summaries, we tend to be judge edits by their content and not by who submitted them.

You may be interested in User:Salix alba/Association of Wikipedians with Mental Health Conditions which is a project which I've been thinking about starting, its currently waiting for a bit of a boost to get the thing going. You might also like to add Category:Dyslexic Wikipedians or the userbox Template:User dyslexic to your user page. --Salix alba (talk) 09:43, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Salix alba -- thanks very much for the introduction. I do not consider dyslexia a mental health condition, but thank you for the invitation. I'll review the guideline and get writing! Benfoss 19:55, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The name is still up for discussion, I'm not too happy about it either, still trying to find a name which could emcompass all those in Category:Wikipedians by physiological condition and Category:Wikipedians by mental condition, whithout getting too long. --Salix alba (talk) 21:59, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How about simply Category:Wikipedians by disabilty ? This is a well eablished catagory in general and covers, under the Americans with Disabilities Act (US, 1990), LD, other psyological impariments and mental illness? Mental conditions, or physiological condition seems a strained set. I am a person with a disability. My specific disability is LD. I undertstand the personal, social and political experience of people with other disabilities, including those ina chair or with a visual impairment. We all need universal design and accomidation to level the playig field, ut we have differences within that general catagory that allow us to preserve our general uniqueness (note, I am no longer going to prrof this seciton with speech software and a pell chaekc -- I am LD and that is art of who I am. We can have this conversation in that relaxed tone (though I understand in importance of proof for a general non-LD audience. I would join Wikipedians by disabilty and be stified. Would you? Enjoying the chat. Benfoss 08:11, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for email. To set up you own email go to your my preferences at the top. To set up a category just create a page whose name starts with Category: for example Category:LD Wikipedians. You'll probably want to add a link to a parent pategory in the page using code like [[Category:Wikipedians by physiological condition]]. Creating userboxes is trickier and can be contriversal. --Salix alba (talk) 10:44, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ben, After reading your recent edit to the discussion page on the dyslexia wikipedia article, I read what is written in your user page. I hope you might be interested in a project I've started. It is to create a handheld computer specifically for dyslexics. You can find out more about it at: Dyslexia handheld computer Of course I would be very happy to have your collaboration on the project. Sincerely,Patty Scheel 14:52, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: You comment on Celia Cruz

[edit]

Re: your message - I'm not sure what you're referring to, actually. I see from my edit history that I reverted some vandalism on the Celia Cruz page on December 11, and left a warning message on an IP address's talk page. I don't know how you ended up seeing the warning message or thinking it was directed at you - perhaps you were using a shared computer that someone else had previously used to vandalize? At any rate, as far as I can tell from the history of your talk page, I've never left you a message, at least not intentionally.  : ) Hope that clears things up! See you around! - Tapir Terrific 17:02, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
