Line-up images

Your recent move requests

Hi Ben! I noticed you had a couple of move requests recently. In the case of Asyut → Assiut, "Asyut" is the WP:COMMONNAME. In the cases of Assiut Airport → Asyut Airport, Assiut Barrage → Asyut Barrage, Assiut University → Asyut University, Our Lady of Assiut → Our Lady of Asyut, the WP:COMMONNAME is "Assiut". I.e. this is what English people expect them to be called, even though the names are not consistent with the common English name of the city. Language is tricky! You might like to read WP:OFFICIAL and WP:NAMINGCRITERIA as well. Keep contributing, and good luck! Danielklein (talk) 02:08, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

@Danielklein: Hello Daniel. Thanks for this comment and to be honest with you, I don't think that I made the right choice by listing those articles on WP:RM. I originally requested Asyut to me moved to Assiut here; but after I was convinced with other users' comments about that Asyut is the correct way to spell the name, I decided to list all other articles including "Assiut" on WP:RM to be replaced with "Asyut". I thought about withdrawing my nomination, but I preferred to wait to hear other people's opinions. Hopefully I didn't made the wrong choice. Thanks again. Ben5218 (talk) 21:23, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
As well as contributing to various wikis, I am also fairly active on the Stack Exchange network of sites. It can be tricky to learn the correct behaviour, and I still get tripped up myself sometimes! There are guidelines both on the Wikipedia network of sites and on Stack Exchange, and these are often not concrete rules. However, being aware of them and the spirit behind them will steer you in the right direction most of the time. The most important thing is that you come with an open mind and are willing to learn what the community thinks is the best behaviour. It sounds like this is what you are already doing, well done! AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!

Greetings!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.

Reliable sources for the Egyptian Premier League stats

Hi Ben. I'm contacting you as you seem to be an expert on Egyptian football here. :-) I've been unable to find a website which has reliable stats for Egyptian Premier League matches. Could you point me to one? I've been unable to verify this change. I reverted it previously as Soccerway didn't support it but perhaps Soccerway's numbers are incomplete… Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 11:11, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

@Robby.is.on: Hello Robby. Beside Soccerway, there isn't that many "decent" English websites covering the Egyptian Premier League. The best one I can recommend to you is Goalzz, since they actively cover the league standings, results and top goalscorers. KingFut used to cover all details about the local league but now they are just sticking to sharing news and updating the league table only. There is also another website called FilGoal which actively cover pretty much everything about the league, but it's in Arabic.
For the numbers of Achraf Bencharki, yes he did score 9 goals in 13 matches but that is in all competitions. As of 25 November 2019, Bencharki scored 1 goal in 3 league appearances with the club. Hopefully you found this helpful. Cheers, Ben5218 (talk) 12:31, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
