Making copies of articles

It's not necessary to make copies of articles to preserve a particular version of the article. Mediawiki (the software that runs Wikipedia) does this automatically.
To preserve a link to a particular version of an article, simply click "history" on the article's page. Right click on the date and select "copy link location" or equivalent in your browser. This URL is a permanent link to that version of the article. Simply save these links and you'll always be able to access that version of the article. Gigs (talk) 13:49, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
