Sorry for the mass tagging of articles. Only trying to clean up the new pages cache. I'll probably stay away from it for a few days and re-read the deletion policy guidelines. Many thanks for your comment. I am doing okay as of right now. The last few months have been rough for my family and myself-my younger brother died suddenly in November 2013. As for the Oakhill Christian School article, it should retained since it is also a high school. As for IP/anon editors, I get frustrated with them-they can be rude and wouldn't signed up for an account. It should be a requirement that anyone who edits Wikipedia be required to sign up for an account. Thank you again-RFD (talk) 15:35, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Might as well say it here too, but as I mentioned on the AN thread, I don't think you should've templated the IP editor with a test editing template (a prod wasn't all that unreasonable, really), and that kinda escalated things, so I'm unilaterally and abusively administering a wrist slap. St Davids Lifeboat Station - possible merge

[edit]

Hi Bearian. You've proposed a merger of St Davids Lifeboat Station into the RNLI main article, but I can't access the relevant discussion page (I clicked on "Discuss" and it just took me to Talk:Royal National Lifeboat Institution, with no mention of the proposed merge). I'm new to merging - can you point me to the right place? Ta.

I wanted to oppose the merge on the grounds that there are other lifeboat stations with their own articles and the RNLI article is about the organisation rather than individual stations, and I'm happy to take on writing up this one if agreeable to everyone interested. Wiki Loves Pride 2014

[edit]

Hi Bearian. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Wikipedia, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. If you are interested, you might consider creating a page for a major city (or cities!) near you, with a list of LGBT-related articles that need to be created or improved. This would be a tremendous help to Wikipedia and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Anthony J Klatch II

[edit]

Regarding this edit, I don't know that I'd call the article on Anthony J. Klatch II a negative BLP. The article does talk about his accomplishments and career. (Actually, if you've checked the history, you'll see that the original was quite a glowing paean to the man!) The author of the article (Artlu) is likely related to Klatch's present endeaver, Artlu Media, so it is unlikely that they are trying to smear the man. The problem is that the only verifiable information about the man is that he is (or was) a crook, and not a very notable crook at that. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:10, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As you may have already heard, the Wikipedia community lost an invaluable member of the community last month. Adrianne Wadewitz was a feminist scholar of 18th-Century British literature, and a prolific editor of the site. As part of a worldwide series of tributes, New England Wikimedians, in conjunction with local institutions of higher learning, have created three edit-a-thons that will be occurring in May and June. Quantum edit war

[edit]

Hello Bearian. I noticed User talk:DParlevliet#Final warning, though I'm not sure exactly what the vandalism would be in reference to. If you have been following issues about this editor, maybe you want to comment at a report of a dispute at WP:AN3, or close it yourself. It's a slow moving war where it is possible that one of the participants is out of his depth, but is continuing regardless. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 14:18, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No, due to my own work in the field of physics, I will have to stay out of this topic hereafter. I issued the final warning to avoid having the user DParlevliet blocked without first, having a templated final warning. I probably should not have even gotten involved as far as I did. Oh, and for what it's worth, Ralph Alpher reviewed my work in the 1990s, and concluded that I was out of depth in quantum physics. Bearian (talk) 14:35, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Up-date

[edit]

Hi,

I tried to up-date the Horiba Medical page in a neutral way and without any justification, not only you succesively revert my modifications but you finally delet the page !

Yes I am working on this company but I try to write in a neutral way and I am totally ready to modify it, if it's not compliant with your policy. If I don't tried to up-date this page it would stay with expired informations.

And this : This is the final warning that you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. The next time you vandalize a page, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Unfortunately, your edits have come to the attention of the administrators of this website. Bearian (talk) 12:10, 23 May 2014 (UTC) is really uncorrect because I have not vandalize the page, I tried to complete it ! You talk without even have read the modification I have posted, because if you did, you would see that it is just an up-date and that all that I added was reliable facts.

And first you told me that I haven't enough legitimacy and then that I am too close to the subject??? Who will up-date it if it's not the company itself???

How to create a wikipedia page of our company ?

[edit]

Hi,

I come back to you to ask you how can I do to make an page about the Horiba Medical Company? For exemple another similar company "Beckman Coulter" have a wikipedia page and we would like to allow people to be able to find detailed informations about our company. And we have really understood that is not to promote us. We only want to present the company in a neutral way.

So how can we do that?

Thank you for you help,

Bertrandroche (talk) 12:54, 23 May 2014 (UTC) Bertrand ROCHE[reply]

Start with a userfied version of your article, which I can create. Then add independent news stories from reputable sources, such Bloomberg News, your local TV station, an independent industry newsletter, a footnote in a technical manual or college textbook, or a daily newspaper. Then come back to me or any other administrator to review your work. I suggest waiting until you can create a draft with at least two or three such stories. Bearian (talk) 13:06, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, I already have given Bertrand some rather different advice on their talkpage the panda ɛˢˡ” 14:38, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

Yes I will appréciate if you could create this userfield version, this way I will be sure that everything is done in the good way this time.

Thank you,

Best regards,

Bertrandroche (talk) 13:21, 23 May 2014 (UTC) Bertrand[reply]

Thank you to have created the userfied version. I will do the modifications and come back to you for validation.

Best regards,

Bertrandroche (talk) 14:20, 23 May 2014 (UTC)Bertrand[reply]

Hi,

The probleme that I have, is that I don't have found any independent media (TV or medical magazine) in which there is the information about the company. So what I tried to do is to rewrite all the text to be the more neutral as possible, in order to submit it to you. I don't know if its possible but could you read what I have wrote and tell me if you find if that's not still enough neutral ?

Best regards,

Bertrandroche (talk) 11:59, 26 May 2014 (UTC) Bertrand[reply]

Even if you re-write the article as neutrally as possible, it wil not be notable if there are no independent media sources. I could write a neutral article about myself, but I would still not be quite notable enough. Bearian (talk) 16:22, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bearian: per your suggestion to add sources I posted at the AfD discussion to Head fake, I hesitate. Occasionally, I have received criticism for adding sources to articles, such as in Further reading sections. If I add all the sources, the article will be dominated by a list of sources, rather than content. I'm not particularly interested in spending a lot of time improving this particular article, so it's unlikely I'll spend my time to expand it with all of those sources. However, I ask your opinion regarding this matter, because the addition of sources would naturally be a positive step toward the article's potential expansion and improvement.
