Hello, Beanpickle,

You are a very new editor. You are not using Speedy deletion criteria appropriately and this causes other editors to have to clean up after your mistaggings. Please do not take on tasks for more experienced editors or you might find yourself blocked very soon. You are moving too fast. Liz Read! Talk! 02:58, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You are also overwhelming Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects and categories with hundreds of requests and, as far as I know, there is one primary editor who responds to requests. It is too much for any editor to respond to and you are forbidden from making any more requests on that noticeboard for ONE WEEK. No more requests for one week! I mean it. I will block you if you add one more. Find other tasks to do, hopefully, in moderation.
If you have questions about Wikipedia, please bring them to the Teahouse. Liz Read! Talk! 03:03, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I'm new so I don't know much about speedy deletion, I just tried to delete those pages since I requested their creation in the first place. Beanpickle (talk) 03:07, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Liz: this user is overwhelming AFCRC again. As they have had an account long enough to create their own redirects, I think you may need to page-block them. User:力 (power~enwiki, π, ν) 18:52, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I will stop again Beanpickle (talk) 19:16, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Moon (moon of Earth) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. – NJD-DE (talk) 00:12, 17 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What is the rush?

[edit]

Hello, Beanpickle,

You are creating HUNDREDS of redirects a day! Editing on Wikipedia should not be done in a hurry, if you understand some policy incorrectly, there might be hundreds, maybe thousands of edits that other editors would have to revert. Please read Wikipedia:There is no deadline and slow down. Make each new page thoughtfully and carefully, Wikipedia will be around for a long time and there is no rush.

Right now, your behavior raises a lot of red flags that attract administrator attention which most editors would prefer to avoid. Liz Read! Talk! 00:53, 17 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am not rushing for any particular reason. Beanpickle (talk) 00:55, 17 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As someone who's reviewed hundreds of these redirects today, please slow down. While none of them that I have seen so far are harmful, we're experiencing a bit of a backlog within WP:NPP at the moment and it's making the job of finding inappropriate redirects harder. Is there a script that you're using to identify and/or create these redirects? If so, there might be a way to allow for the mass creation of these redirects without overwhelming the New Pages Patrol. — Mikehawk10 (talk) 04:00, 17 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have any script for it, but I will slow down. Beanpickle (talk) 04:05, 17 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not a problem! Going through, the vast majority appear to have been OK. I've nominated only a handful for speedy deletion. — Mikehawk10 (talk) 05:09, 17 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Some are clearly NOT GOOD though, like E I Moon, Earth (astronomy) and Earth I Moon. Liz Read! Talk! 05:36, 17 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The main I made E I Moon and Earth I Moon was because it was more descriptive than just Moon, because that could mean any natural satellite, however Moon redirects to Earth's Moon anyways, so those redirects may not be that important. Beanpickle (talk) 14:09, 17 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There is a pseudoperm for autopatrolled redirects (see Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Redirect whitelist). ― Qwerfjkltalk 18:49, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, when creating redirects, please categorise them. Tools like User:Wugapodes/Capricorn can help with this. I can also mass-categorise pages if you provide a list. ― Qwerfjkltalk 18:46, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
