Great start on an article ...!

[edit]

I'm toning down the language a bit for you in the hopes the next reviewer puts this through. Hope you'll consider trying your hand at other tasks on Wikipedia too! Here's a link to recent changes on the Louisville articles for you. If you see something there that needs improvement, remember WP:BE BOLD. Djembayz (talk) 18:57, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not the news you want to hear ...

[edit]
Cute kitty brings you a consolation prize for a really good try!

OK, I went back in and attempted to provide proper citations for you. I'm sorry to bring you bad news, but even though this is turning out to be a very handsome page, it isn't going to work on Wikipedia. You can post it over at http://www.wikia.com/Wikia , which hosts personal wikis, and you might also consider working with a site like: http://louisvilleblogs.pbworks.com/w/page/8153199/FrontPage

Here's how this works: Wikipedia takes material from reliable second party sources. In essence, you need at least two or more newspaper articles or broadcast news stories focusing on a feature biography of the individual, not just a passing mention of their involvement with an event. (Books are even better.) These sources also need to show that your subject is notable outside his immediate geographic area.

If Mr. Yates extends his publicity efforts and starts appearing in secondary sources, the next step is taking a look at the page called Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, especially avoiding "self-published sources," and also at Wikipedia:Neutral point of view.

On the upside, there is a bit of material here for improving the article about Colonial Gardens, so Mr. Yates will not be entirely absent from the encyclopedia.

Thanks for your efforts ... and do feel free to use the skills you've acquired here to work on other pages in the encyclopedia! If you have a legal background, you'll find there's a real need for you over at Wikipedia:WikiProject Law. Djembayz (talk) 04:28, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
