I removed the new entry from The Dreamers disambiguation page. I couldn't find a Wikipedia article about the sculpture or either of the sculptors, and disambiguation pages are for disambiguating articles. If you can find (or create) and article about any of them, they would be agood place to use your images, and they could be added to the disambiguation page. Thanks! -- JHunterJ 21:58, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, J... I'm totally new to this, and will take all the assistance I can get! The sculpture I posted about is well-known in the Huntsville, Texas area - would it be appropriate to add to the Huntsville, Texas Wiki entry? While not as easily noticed as the Sam Houston statue on the south side of the city, this piece of art is very illustrative of the communities deep-rooted commitment to remembering the past and changing the future. Any suggestions and/or assistance you can give me in recognizing this sculpture is much appreciated. (BaylorDad 22:52, 29 April 2007 (UTC))
- It might be appropriate on the Huntsville entry, and it might be notable enough on its own for a new The Dreamers (sculpture) entry. The Talk:Huntsville, Texas page might be a better place to ask, since I'm no expert on sculpture or Huntsville. :-) Wherever it goes, having a citation indicating coverage in print will help. An article on the sculpture ran in The Houston Chronicle on February 5, 1995, for instance. You could use
- {{cite news |author=Allan Turner |title=A Wall of Hope: Sculpture puts human faces on legacy of black school |work=[[The Houston Chronicle]], State section |page=1 |date=[[1995-02-05]]}}
- to produce this reference: Allan Turner (1995-02-05). "A Wall of Hope: Sculpture puts human faces on legacy of black school". The Houston Chronicle, State section. p. 1.

: Check date values in:|date=
(help). If your local library doesn't have Chronicle archives back to '95, let me know. And BTW, you can respond here -- I've got a "watch" on this page, so I'll see the response, and the conversation will flow more naturally. -- JHunterJ 23:09, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
I've attempted to create the page The Dreamers (sculpture)... let me know if it will fly, or what I need to do to make it so. Thanks! (BaylorDad 03:02, 30 April 2007 (UTC))
- It flies. Next would be to create some additional links to it, probably from Huntsville, Texas and similar pages, to build the web. It currently is what is called an "orphan": no articles link to it (and disambiguation pages aren't articles). -- JHunterJ 11:28, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
OK... I got no feedback from the Talk:Huntsville, Texas page, so I've added a paragraph of information on Samuel W. Houston, his advancement of education in the city/county, and the commissioning of The Dreamers (sculpture). Please let me know what you think, and tell me if this removes the entry from its 'orphan' status. Thanks! (BaylorDad 23:01, 30 April 2007 (UTC))
- Feedback can be slow in coming, especially as perceived by those of us online all day. :-) I think it looks good. I wikilinked the date (see WP:DATE#Dates containing a month and a day) and made a few other minor changes. And, BTW, I think that's a great photo of the wall. -- JHunterJ 10:49, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Thank you! And thank you for all of your assistance in helping me learn how to Wiki! I know I've a long way to go, but I appreciate you taking the time. :-> (BaylorDad 21:51, 1 May 2007 (UTC))
I've added photographs to the following pages: Sabinal, Texas, Frio River, Garner State Park, and Texas Hill Country. Open to any and all suggestions on how photographs can be better used, or described. Thanks! BaylorDad (talk) 18:28, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for adding the images! You might want to look over Wikipedia:Extended image syntax for how to better add images by using parameters such as thumb, image sizes, etc. Also you might want to avoid using peacock terms like you did when adding the image to Texas Hill Country. Anyway I hope this helps, and good luck with editing! --ImmortalGoddezz (t/c) 20:03, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the tip, and the link! I am truly a work in progress, and appreciate the kind assist! BaylorDad (talk) 21:53, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
