Your username
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. This is a message to let you know that your username, "SouthGlosCouncil", may not comply with Wikipedia's username policy. Please note that the following types of usernames are prohibited:
- Promotional usernames: Those that match the name of a company, organization, group, website or product (e.g. "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", "Foobar Museum of Art"). However, you are allowed to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally (e.g. "Jack Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "FoobarFan87").
- Usernames implying shared use: Those that directly imply shared access between people (e.g. "Jack and Jill's Account"), or match names of posts within groups or organizations (e.g. "Secretary of the XY Foundation").
For more information, see Wikipedia's username policy.
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, website, person or other entity, nor do we tolerate any other 'bad faith' editing such as trolling, vandalism or other disruptive behavior, regardless of your username. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. If you do not understand which part of the policy your username may be violating, please don't hesitate to ask. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. - Hi, thanks for reading the above and changing your account name. TSventon (talk) 16:53, 11 October 2019 (UTC)
Updating the South Gloucestershire page
[edit]Hi, I have copy edited your post as follows:
- I added {{request edit}} at the beginning, which alerts editors that you have requested assistance
- I removed duplicate signatures at the beginning of posts. (You can sign a post by adding ~~~~ at the end.)
- I created subsections for the individual topics
- I added {{Reflist-talk}} at the end so references will appear there rather than at the bottom of the page TSventon (talk) 13:58, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
Paid editing confirmation
[edit]I have added a {{Connected contributor (paid)}} template to the South Gloucestershire talkpage, as your original username suggested that you are an employee of the council. Please can you confirm if this is correct, as the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require that editors disclose their "employer, client, and affiliation" with respect to any paid contribution (see WP:PAID). I suggest that you should also read the conflict of interests guidance, WP:COI.TSventon (talk) 14:07, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
