[edit]Hi Barbara. As you said, I deleted the article due to a lack of assertion of significance. In order to get past this, you need to provide a few reliable references from unrelated third party sources (such as national newspapers, mention on a national arts council website etc) about the subject. Another concern is that the article was also edited by User:Lindalevi, which is a possible WP:COI. Anyway, welcome to Wikipedia, and I hope you enjoy making a contribution. If you have any more questions, ask away! пﮟмьεя 57 11:21, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
- PS. I don't have to undelete the article for you to start it again. If you need the text, let me know and I'll paste it on your talk page. пﮟмьεя 57 11:25, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Yes, I would appreciate it very much if you would paste it on my talk page so, I can work on it and give further information and newspaper and art magazine articles. I'm also going to mention more about her family position in Los Angeles.
Thanks,barbara

Linda Levi (born 1935) in Los Angeles, California is an American artist who lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
Education
She was educated at Los Angeles High School (1953), University of California, Berkeley, CA (1954), University of California at Los Angeles, CA., (1958, BA. 1960, MA)
Art Forms
She began as an abstract expressionist influenced by New York, San Francisco, the artists at Ferus Gallery, LA, many who were her friends, and teachers like Adolph Gottlieb and Richard Diebenkorn. However, her direction was changed after living in New York City in 1960. She saw that abstract expressionist was coming to an end and began to paint images around her like gas meters and cameras. But that was short lived as she felt that abstract painting was still relevant.
Upon her return to Los Angeles, she began to paint abstract imagery using many mediums like paint, plastic, wood, and worked with light and kinetic movement. This interest in abstract organic and geometric imagery continued for over thirty years.
In 1993, she began to use a Macintosh computer to do art, painting on a tablet, and using her own photographs, which she altered digitally. The images go back to the more identifiable ones she was painting in 1960 in New York City.
Family Life
She is the great great granddaughter of famed Los Angeles pioneer Harris Newmark.
Other Information
Her first solo exhibit was at Esther Robles Gallery in 1964.
