Welcome!

Hello, Bar-abban, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Most influential Jews, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard. Thank you.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. A tag has been placed on Most influential Jews requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Welcome to Wikipedia. A page you recently created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already). Please use the sandbox for any tests, and consider using the Article Wizard. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Your first article. You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. Kiteinthewind Leave a message! 18:19, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, colleague, I consider this remark which treats my edits as "tests" to be an insult, both as a personal one and of the common sense. Thank you back, Bar-abban (talk) 18:23, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not attack other editors. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Kiteinthewind Leave a message! 19:04, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, colleague, I disagree with your turning tables. You were accusing me of making "test" edits, i.e., you were attacking me. On the other hand, I was expressing my feeling of being insulted. If you think that my feeling of being insulted attacks you, you have to reconsider your attitudes to other people. I am no longer wishing to engage in discussions with you, unless I see your change in attitude. Any further your comments on my talk page will be deleted. (Especially after noticing this unexplained knee-jerk revert.) Please discuss article content in article talk pages. Bar-abban (talk) 22:03, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, 2008 Forward 50

[edit]

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, 2008 Forward 50. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Forward 50. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Forward 50 - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Salvio ( Let's talk 'bout it!) 13:29, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Response to your query about a revert

[edit]

I have just read your message on my talk page. For your convenience I am moving it to here:

Please explain your edit. In particular, why did you delete my "hangon" tag? Bar-abban (talk) 22:38, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have looked back at my edit, and I confess I cannot imagine why I did it: it must have been some mistake. I would certainly never intentionally remove another user's "hangon" tag unless I was also removing the speedy deletion tag. I have no memory of editing that page at all. I was using Huggle at the time. I don't know whether you know what Huggle is, but it is a program used for vandalism patrolling. It is very useful, but unfortunately at times it can produce unexpected results, and one problem which I have experienced is that clicking on a "revert" button at the very moment when Huggle is changing from one page to another can result in accidentally reverting the wrong edit, and I think that may be what happened in this case. Whatever the cause of it was I hope you will accept my apologies for this error. JamesBWatson (talk) 19:21, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Bar-abban (talk) 20:32, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Nomination: 2006 Forward 50 etc

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that 2006 Forward 50; 2007 Forward 50; 2008 Forward 50; 2009 Forward 50; Forward 50 meet these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether theses articles/lists should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether these articles/lists meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2006 Forward 50. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last seven days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the articles/lists. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" templates (the boxes at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the articles/lists. IZAK (talk) 09:32, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the {{copyvio}} template you placed on this image as it is not intended to be used in the file namespace. As no specific url was given I am unsure of the course of action, but if you know specifically where the image was taken from (I looked at the alleged source but didn't see the image), then feel free to tag the image as a probably-unfree file or for speedy deletion. Cheers. VernoWhitney (talk) 15:18, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The article Dreydlekh has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

short article that simply exists to define a foreign language term, perhaps it can be redirected to Klezmer#Style

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
