[edit]Sure. :) At what time are you usually on IRC? Sango123 22:32, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Hello, I noticed that you identify as a conservative Wikipedian. So I would like to invite you to post any conservative issues you might have over at the new project page, Wikipedia:Conservative_notice_board. Thanks. --Facto 05:26, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Hey Banes, I'm inviting you to join the User Page Design Committee as a designer. Take a look at the main page to see a rough draft of the Main scope of the project, and let me know if you would like to join as a member to help assist those in need of a good User Page! Cheers! — The King of Kings 23:22, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Locking user pages
[edit]First admin i found to be able to answer a quick question.
Is it possoble for users to be able to lock their own user pages or something, so that they are the only ones that can edit those pages? Because I had the idea of asking an admin to lock [page] because I wish my userbars to remain untouched. Sorry if this has been already asked, but i'm rather in a hurry and i cannot afford time to search carefully whether questions like mine have already been asked.
Re: Esperanza elections
[edit]Thank you so much, my dear Banes, your words were indeed very eloquent, and I appreciate them to no end! -- Natalya 19:28, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- It's finally there - though I hope you haven't been refreshing for that long, as I took a rather long time! -- Natalya 04:39, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
I was waiting to be sure you were going to run - otherwise, I would have prodded you until you did! Yay! -- Natalya 11:47, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Question
[edit]Hi. I'm Sharlemagne and a new user. I was wondering if you could help me customize my page with the userboxers. And how would I catorgorize my page? Like, I found you under teenage Wikipedians, so how could I do the same for myself?
Please help. Thanks.
Merci Beaucoup

A short Esperanzial update
[edit]As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
User page
[edit]Ok... having now been here for 2 months, and with ovr 4000 edits, I have come to the conclusion that my User page needs spiffification... I'm half tempted to steal yours, and attempt to modify it, but figured you might have a better solution... any recommendations would help... - Adolphus79 23:27, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Admin coaching again
[edit]Hi Daniel, I've added my two cents at User:Soumyasch/AdminCoaching. How about wrapping things up and getting ready for the next session? :) Cheers, Sango123 15:04, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, sure. So next we'll cover warning templates and assign some reading? Sango123 15:16, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Blocking question
[edit]Hey Banes, as a relatively new admin still, I have a question about blocking, and was hoping you'd know. If an IP is blocked, what, if anything, can be done for registered users who wish to edit under their username, but from that IP? I believe I've gathered that initially they are also blocked from editing, but haven't been able to figure out from all the assorted things I've read if that can be remedied at all. Thanks! -- Natalya 18:24, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! That was what I had been thinking, glad to know that I generally understand it. -- Natalya 03:12, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Re:Thank you!
[edit]No problem. I'm feeling about as confident in the elections as I did for my driving test today. I failed. One is far more expensive failure than the other... Petros471 16:25, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- Possibly, there are plenty of other good candidates (*wink*). I don't really mind though, it's not like I can't be involved with Esperanza things if I'm not on the council. I'm not that bothered by failing the test (first time), I am bothered by the quite stupid amount of money it costs (I'm not technically a student at the moment but I feel as poor as one!). Petros471 17:26, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Admin coaching update
[edit]Hey Daniel! Soum has probably had enough time to review comments from our last session, so if you're not too busy now, do you think we could get started on the second session with warning templates and assigned reading? Cheers, Sango123 18:37, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, done! I picked admin policy pages for the assigned reading, mainly covering deletion, protection, and blocking. Feel free to add to or modify the list as you'd like. Take care, Sango123 02:43, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Just checking in...
[edit]Hey, Daniel...it's been a looong time. Are you off of your WikiBreak? Or...was it a SATbreak? Whatever; are you back? How's stuff going for you? I've been keeping superiorily busy...but, I'm sure you know about that (since I noticed a person from South Africa stopped by Extreme Calling a bit ago). Anyway, I just wanted to check in with you and see how life was going. Talk to you later...--ViolinGirl♪ 15:21, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- Nice to hear from you and to know what's going on with you. Everything sounds exciting, thanks for letting me know. I've been doing great, and I assume you have been, as well, from the sounds of it. The "holiday" was a working vacation :D yes, I suppose you could call it that. Intense, but fun, as well. I'm glad the SAT went well...it's pretty tough, I gather. Best wishes for your success at the workshop thing you're going to the next week(s?). I'm sure you'll do well. As for my own academic plans, at the moment it looks like I'm going to be aiming for the stars and try auditioning for the Curtis Institute of Music...it will be a huge challenge, and the answer really will be from the Lord if I get in or not. Anyway, I've been practicing and trying to prepare for a possible audition to get into their fall classes in 2007. But enough about that...after you talk to the US embassy guy, that's hopefully going to narrow down your choices for...college...right? Sounds interesting.--ViolinGirl♪ 20:58, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- Best wishes to you for your college pursuits. What are you going for? Yeah, school is expensive. I'm sure you'll be able to get a good scholarship, I think a lot of schools really cater to students who don't come from America. Anyway...I'm not really sure when the audition will be...I'll be aiming to join their fall classes, so whenever the audition for that is (this winter, maybe?) that's when I'll try it. I think. :D --ViolinGirl♪ 22:01, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject The Beatles Newsletter

|
Preparing articles for inclusion in Wikipedia 1.0.
It was a bit of a struggle to get this month's newsletter done, as we did it without a lead editor. Hopefully, next month you'll jump in and be our lead editor. Big news is that WP:1.0 is coming along nicely and our article classification system has changed to conform to it. If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered as desired. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy! Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue (Issue 004 – August 2006). Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or just start editing!

Complete To Do List
Make visible or invisible by clicking Show or Hide, respectively.
As the project is currently just starting, our more experienced editors are working on the project infrastructure, classifying articles, and listing/assessing red links. Your assistance is welcome. If you would prefer to just edit - and why wouldn't you? - we have a choice selection of red links to turn blue and articles to clean! Now let's get busy.
If you complete one of these tasks, please remove it from the list and add your achievement to the project log. |
- Want to help on next month's newsletter? Don't want to receive these in future? Don't want it subst'd next time? – It's all here.

[edit]Thank you for your vote in the Esperanza Elections. Your support is much appreciated, and it means that I am now in the Council. I will continue to try my best, and if you have any questions or queries, please don't hesistate to leave me a message. Thanks again, — FireFox 15:28, 10 July '06
- I'd also like to add my congratulations on your success into the Council, I look forward to working with you. — FireFox 15:47, 10 July '06
Elections and coaching
[edit]First off, a huge congratulations on being elected into the Esperanza Council! :) And no, I haven't heard from Soum lately, although he still appears to be active. No harm will come out of letting him take his time though, especially with the assigned reading. Cheers, Sango123 17:03, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Many thanks and some looking forward to
[edit]My dear Banes, thank you so much for your support in the Esperanza Elections! It really honors me to have it, especially from someone who I respect very much. I am much looking forward to working with you on the council, it will truly be great! -- Natalya 01:23, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
