This is a nice way to convert from CSV to wikimedia tables:

Comparison of US au pair agencies

[edit]

A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Comparison of US au pair agencies, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.

I removed this table from the page you are reading now. If it does not belong in the encyclopedia, it would not belong on your user page either. Please ask me if you have any questions. YechielMan 09:18, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is my first real contribution to wikipedia. I spent a lot of time researching the data for that table. The one that was posted here on my talk page was for practice to make sure I had the formatting correct (I didn't know about the Sandbox. Also, I'm not sure why this table should be deleted from the Comparison of US au pair agencies page. There are so many product comparisons on wikipedia, e.g. those which look at different types of software. The type of information I compiled in this table is unbiased and some of it does not appear anywhere else on the web. It is a very difficult thing to choose an au pair agency (I just went through the process), so it seems very helpful to go to an encyclopedic type place in order to get comparison information.

Hi there, I just wanted to thank you for this table as I haven't seen anything like it and it was helpful to me. I still don't know which one to pick but I think I can use this to narrow it down. - tolkienprincess

Well, they deleted my table (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Comparison_of_US_au_pair_agencies). You can still find this info in an old version of my talk page. I put it there to practice making a table (I didn't know about the sandbox). http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Bandrewfox&oldid=136677312 I will now host this table on my own website. --bandrewfox Feb 19, 2008

If you have e-mail enabled I can email you the content as long as it isn't used on Wikipedia. --Coredesat 01:27, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a list of other (very useful) pages on wikipedia which are comparisons of products (I will add to the list as I run across the pages): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_reference_management_software

or heck, try this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=%22comparison+of%22&go=Go or to save wikipedia computing, try this: http://www.google.com/search?num=30&hl=en&safe=off&q=intitle%3Acomparison-of+intitle%3Asoftware+site%3Aen.wikipedia.org&btnG=Search
