Toca Boca
Hello Bananasoldier! I took a look at your draft, and it looks good. I did find that at times it reads like an advertisement (for example, "Toca Boca games are intended to inspire creativity and imagination.") It does have coverage and is notable however, but might need a bit of rewording. I don't know if you need to list all their games either. It's a bit of a laundry list. Maybe there are some specific popular games you could expand coverage on? Just some suggestions. Great job! Vacationnine 22:33, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the help! Bananasoldier (talk) 02:41, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
P.S. What might I title the specific popular games subheading? "Popular Games Developed" sounds a bit biased, and currently I'm out of ideas.
Thanks!Bananasoldier (talk) 03:43, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
P.P.S. How about "Various Games Developed"? Bananasoldier (talk) 03:49, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

Welcome to the 2014 WikiCup!
Hello Bananasoldier, and welcome to the 2014 WikiCup! Your submission page can be found here. The competition began on 1 January. There have been a few small changes from last year; the rules can be read in full at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring, and the page also includes a summary of changes. One important rule to remember is that only content on which you have completed significant work, and nominated, in 2014 is eligible for points in the competition- the judges will be checking! As ever, this year's competition includes some younger editors. If you are a younger editor, you are certainly welcome, but we have written an advice page at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Advice for younger editors for you. Please do take a look. Any questions should be directed to one of the judges, or left on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup. Signups will close at the end of January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will make it to round 2. Good luck! Your recent edits
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 05:11, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Sorry just saw your question about Bloons TD5 Deluxe this link as a ref. Since it's a primary source from their own website it's ok to use for trivial things like release dates, but ideally we'd look for a secondary source for anything more. If it was any other blog we wouldn't use it at all. Samwalton9 (talk) 15:02, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Bloons TD GAN?
I'm starting to think it's time to nominate Bloons TD for Good Article status. What do you think? Samwalton9 (talk) 00:44, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Also, (be honest): Do you think I contributed substantially enough for WikiCup credit? I don't feel as though I have. Bananasoldier (talk) 01:27, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
- Ha, thanks. Well there's no rush and you should take a look through it properly first and make any changes you think still need making :) And yes definitely, you did a lot! Samwalton9 (talk) 01:30, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Archive URLs
Hi! Just out of curiosity, why did you add archive URLs for loads of references on Bloons TD? All the sites seem to still be up. Samwalton9 (talk) 11:27, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- Oh, are we only supposed to archive dead links? I thought this way I could prevent them from rotting. Oops. Bananasoldier (talk) 16:49, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- As far as I know you avoid link rot by using the cite templates; this allows other editors to look for the source even if it's not available anymore. Archive URLs are normally only added when the original link doesn't work any more. Not aware of any guideline against using archive URLs before its necessary but its not normally done :D Samwalton9 (talk) 16:52, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- Got it. Let's just say the man of the future won't have to go repair 30 links or so of Bloons TD when those links stop working (if they ever will). :) Bananasoldier (talk) 16:56, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

WikiCup 2014 January newsletter
The 2014 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with, at time of writing, 138 participants. The is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2010. If you are yet to join the competition, don't worry- the judges have agreed to keep the signups open for a few more days. By a wide margin, our current leader is newcomer Godot13 (submissions), whose set of 14 featured pictures, the first FPs of the competition, was worth 490 points. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:
- 12george1 (submissions) and TropicalAnalystwx13 (submissions) were the first people to score, for the good article Tropical Storm Bret (1981) and its good article review respectively. 12george1 was also the first person to score in 2012 and 2013.
- Sven Manguard (submissions) scored the first ITN points for 2014 North American polar vortex.
- WonderBoy1998 (submissions) scored points for an early good topic, finishing off Wikipedia:Featured topics/She Wolf.
- TheAustinMan (submissions) scored the first bonus points of the competition, for his work on Typhoon Vera.
- Igordebraga (submissions) has scored the highest number of bonus points for a single article, for the high-importance Jurassic Park (film).
Featured articles, featured lists, featured topics and featured portals are yet to play a part in the competition. The judges have removed a number of submissions which were deemed ineligible. Typically, we aim to see work on a project, followed by a nomination, followed by promotion, this year. We apologise for any disappointment caused by our strict enforcement this year; we're aiming to keep the competition as fair as possible.
Wikipedians interested in friendly competition may be interested to take part in The Core Contest; unlike the WikiCup, The Core Contest is not about audited content, but, like the WikiCup, it is about article improvement; specifically, The Core Contest is about contribution to some of Wikipedia's most important article. Of course, any work done for The Core Contest, if it leads to a DYK, GA or FA, can earn WikiCup points.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Honest Tea
Hey! Hope all is well. I got back laptop back from repairs, so I should be more active once again. I remember you asked me to help out with Honest Tea a week or two ago. I'm not sure if you made any more progress with that, but I put up a short list of brands on the article. Definitely needs some expansion and secondary sources (assuming they exist). Hopefully we can grow it from there :)
Funny thing, I was buying dinner the other day, and when I was grabbing my usual drink I noticed Honest Tea out of the corner of my eye. Remembered the article and "why not?", so I grabbed one. Pretty good stuff, so thanks for that. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 07:34, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Feedback needed on using special characters
Hello. Thank you for using VisualEditor! Having editors use it is the best way for the Wikimedia Foundation to develop it into the best tool it can be.
While we always welcome general feedback (please report any issues in Bugzilla in the "VisualEditor" product or drop your feedback on the central feedback page on MediaWiki.org), the developers are especially interested right now in feedback on the special character inserter. This new tool is used for inserting special characters (including symbols like ₥, IPA pronunciation symbols, mathematics symbols, and characters with diacritics). It is intended to help people whose computers do not have good character inserters. For example, many Mac users prefer to use the extensive "Special Characters..." tool present at the bottom of the Edit menu in all applications or to learn the keyboard shortcuts for characters like ñ and ü.
The current version of the special characters tool in VisualEditor is very simple and very basic. It will be getting a lot of work in the coming weeks and months. It does not contain very many character sets at this time. (The specific character sets can be customized at each Wikipedia, so that each project could have a local version with the characters it wants.) But the developers want your ideas at this early stage about ways that the overall concept could be improved. I would appreciate your input on this question, so please try out the character inserter and tell me what changes to the design would (or would not!) best work for you.
Issues you might consider:
- How often do you normally use Wikipedia's character inserters?
- Which character sets are useful to you? Should it include all 18 of the character sets provided in the wikitext editor's newer toolbar at the English Wikipedia, the 10 present in the older editor toolbar, or some other combination of character sets?
- How many special characters would you like to see at one time?
- Should there be a "priority" or "favorites" section for the 10 or 12 characters that most editors need most often? Is it okay if you need an extra click to go beyond the limited priority set?
- How should the sections be split up? Should they be nested? Ordered?
- How should the sections be navigated? Should there be a drop-down? A nested menu?
- The wikitext editor has never included many symbols and characters, like ℗ and ♀. Do you find that you need these missing characters? If the character inserter in VisualEditor includes hundreds or thousands of special characters, will it be overwhelming? How will you find the character you want? What should be done for users without enough space to display more than a few dozen characters?
- Should the character inserter be statically available until dismissed? Should it hover near the mouse? Should it go away on every selection or 10 seconds after a selection with no subsequent ones?
- Some people believe that the toolbar already has too many options—how would you simplify it?
The developers are open to any thoughts on how the special character inserter can best be developed, even if this requires significant changes. Please leave your views on the central feedback page, or, if you'd prefer, you can contact me directly on my talk page. It would be really helpful if you can tell me how frequently you need to use special characters in your typical editing and what languages or other special characters are important to you.
Thank you again for your work with VisualEditor and for any feedback you can provide. I really do appreciate it.
P.S. You might be interested in the current ideas about improving citations, too. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 00:20, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

WikiCup 2014 February newsletter
And so ends the most competitive first round we have ever seen, with 38 points required to qualify for round 2. Last year, 19 points secured a place; before that, 11 (2012) or 8 (2011) were enough. This is both a blessing and a curse. While it shows the vigourous good health of the competition, it also means that we have already lost many worthy competitors. Our top three scorers were:
- Godot13 (submissions), a WikiCup newcomer whose high-quality scans of rare banknotes represent an unusual, interesting and valuable contribution to Wikipedia. Most of Godot's points this round have come from a large set of pictures used in Treasury Note (1890–91).
- Adam Cuerden (submissions), a WikiCup veteran and a finalist last year, Adam is also a featured picture specialist, focusing on the restoration of historical images. This month's promotions have included a carefully restored set of artist William Russell Flint's work.
- WikiRedactor (submissions), another WikiCup newcomer. WikiRedactor has claimed points for good article reviews and good articles relating to pop music, many of which were awarded bonus points. Articles include Sky Ferreira, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus and "Wrecking Ball" (Miley Cyrus song).
Other competitors of note include:
- Hahc21 (submissions), who helped take Thirty Flights of Loving through good article candidates and featured article candidates, claiming the first first featured article of the competition.
- Prism (submissions), who claimed the first featured list of the competition with Natalia Kills discography.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions), who takes the title of the contributor awarded the highest bonus point multiplier (resulting in the highest scoring article) of the competition so far. Her high-importance salamander, now a good article, scored 108 points.
After such a competitive first round, expect the second round to also be fiercely fought. Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 1 but before the start of round 2 can be claimed in round 2, but please do not update your submission page until March (UTC). Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points equally.
WikiCup 2014 March newsletter
A quick update as we are half way through round two of this year's competition. WikiCup newcomer Godot13 (submissions) (Pool E) leads, having produced a massive set of featured pictures for Silver certificate (United States), an article also brought to featured list status. Former finalist Adam Cuerden (submissions) (Pool G) is in second, which he owes mostly to his work with historical images, including a number of images from Urania's Mirror, an article also brought to good status. 2010 champion (Pool C) is third overall, thanks to contributions relating to naval history, including the newly featured Japanese battleship Nagato. Cliftonian (submissions), who currently leads Pool A and is sixth overall, takes the title for the highest scoring individual article of the competition so far, with the top importance featured article Ian Smith.
With 26 people having already scored over 100 points, it is likely that well over 100 points will be needed to secure a place in round 3. Recent years have required 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) and 100 (2010). Remember that only 64 will progress to round 3 at the end of April. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page; if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points equally. Podcast as a source
I don't wish to contradict the other editor at the Teahouse, so I felt it best to simply contact you on your talk page.
I don't know that the podcast is a reliable source for information on anything but the podcast itself or the blog itself as it is indeed a personal blog and not the official site of the company itself. The site is a free site that anyone can create a podcast and publish and the interviewer is Albe Zakes, Global VP, Media Relations at TerraCycle, Inc. It is not secondary in nature but more like a primary source, but self published content. this is them interviewing themselves. You may get a more than a little pushback using that source depending on what you are referencing. If you have any questions please feel free to ask on my talk page. Happy editing!--Mark Miller (talk) 07:02, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
- Hi! Thanks for taking the time to write to me at the Teahouse as well as here. I understand that the podcast is a primary source, and thus the only fact I used from it was that Jon Beyer left in 2007. I never like using flaky sources, but I couldn't find any publication or anywhere else for that matter that mentioned this. Best, Bananasoldier (talk) 07:13, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
- Unfortunately we cannot source facts about others from these types of sources. Per our BLP policy, WP:BLPPRIMARY: "Never use self-published sources – including but not limited to books, zines, websites, blogs, and tweets – as sources of material about a living person, unless written or published by the subject...". This violates a rather important policy.--Mark Miller (talk) 07:22, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
- Hi @Mark Miller:, I see your point now, because the fact relates to Jon Beyer and not simply the company. Would it be okay to use this: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/jon-beyer/4/962/843? It shows that he did leave in 2007, and although it's a primary source, he published it himself. Thanks, Bananasoldier (talk) 07:57, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
- Yes. According to this it can be used for sourcing information on the subject that self published the content. While the link I am leaving is only an essay it should at least demonstrate that other editors share this opinion.--Mark Miller (talk) 08:11, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

Section ordering at Template talk:Did you know
In regards to this edit, please stop reordering the sections associated with each date. Having the April 6 section in proper chronological order does not affect the ability for your nomination to be reviewed. It does make a variety of maintence tasks a little harder because it obfuscates how long things have been waiting on the nominations page. If you look at the current list of outstanding nominations you will see a fair number of nominations for dates before April 6 that are still waiting for a review. DYK does not reject nominations lacking a review, so please have a little patience. --Allen3 talk 23:36, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry about that! As you can see, I'm a newbie, so I thought that "Older nominations" meant "finished nominations". Thanks for clarifying, Bananasoldier (talk) 23:39, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
- One question please, Allen3: Won't it get lost if buried among the other April 6 nominations as well as all the other dates? Thanks, Bananasoldier (talk) 23:45, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
- From this edit, my guess is that a 100% completed day is deleted, right? In which case, that answers my question. Bananasoldier (talk) 23:49, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
- That is correct, when all the nominations associated with a specific date are closed the corresponding section is removed from the nominations page. In addition when a nomination is closed, either by promotion to the queues or by being rejected, the nomination is automatically hidden at Template talk:Did you know via template transclusion commands. As a result, only active nominations are shown on the nominations page. --Allen3 talk 00:35, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

DYK for TerraCycle
On 22 April 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article TerraCycle, which you recently created or substantially expanded. WikiCup 2014 April newsletter
Round 3 of the 2014 WikiCup has just begun; 32 competitors remain. Pool G's Adam Cuerden (submissions) was Round 2's highest scorer, with a large number of featured picture credits. In March/April, he restored star charts from Urania's Mirror, lithographs of various warships (such as SMS Gefion) and assorted other historical media. Second overall was Pool E's Godot13 (submissions), whose featured list Silver certificate (United States) contains dozens of scans of banknotes recently promoted to featured picture status. Third was Pool G's ChrisGualtieri (submissions) who has produced a large number of good articles, many, including Falkner Island, on Connecticut-related topics. Other successful participants included Cliftonian (submissions), who saw three articles (including the top-importance Ian Smith) through featured article candidacies, and Caponer (submissions), who saw three lists (including the beautifully-illustrated list of plantations in West Virginia) through featured list candidacies. High-importance good articles promoted this round include narwhal from Reid, iain james (submissions), tiger from Cwmhiraeth (submissions) and The Lion King from Igordebraga (submissions). We also saw our first featured topic points of the competition, awarded to Czar (submissions) and Red Phoenix (submissions) for their work on the Sega Genesis topic. No points have been claimed so far for good topics or featured portals.
192 was our lowest qualifying score, again showing that this WikiCup is the most competitive ever. In previous years, 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) or 100 (2010) secured a place in Round 3. Pool H was the strongest performer, with all but one of its members advancing, while only the two highest scorers in Pools G and F advanced. At the end of June, 16 users will advance into the semi-finals. Good luck! WikiCup 2014 June newsletter
After an extremely close race, Round 3 is over. 244 points secured a place in Round 4, which is comparable to previous years- 321 was required in 2013, while 243 points were needed in 2012. Pool C's Godot13 (submissions) was the round's highest scorer, mostly due to a 32 featured pictures, including both scans and photographs. Also from Pool C, Casliber (submissions) finished second overall, claiming three featured articles, including the high-importance Grus (constellation). Third place was Pool B's , whose contributions included featured articles Russian battleship Poltava (1894) and Russian battleship Peresvet. Pool C saw the highest number of participants advance, with six out of eight making it to the next round.
The round saw this year's first featured portal, with Sven Manguard (submissions) taking Portal:Literature to featured status. The round also saw the first good topic points, thanks to 12george1 (submissions) and the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season. This means that all content types have been claimed this year. Other contributions of note this round include a featured topic on Maya Angelou's autobiographies from Figureskatingfan (submissions), a good article on the noted Czech footballer Tomáš Rosický from Cloudz679 (submissions) and a now-featured video game screenshot, freely released due to the efforts of Sven Manguard (submissions).
The judges would like to remind participants to update submission pages promptly. This means that content can be checked, and allows those following the competition (including those participating) to keep track of scores effectively. This round has seen discussion about various aspects of the WikiCup's rules and procedures. Those interested in the competition can be assured that formal discussions about how next year's competition will work will be opened shortly, and all are welcome to voice their views then. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. WikiCup 2014 August newsletter
The final of the 2014 WikiCup begins in a few short minutes! Our eight finalists are listed below, along with their placement in Round 4:
- Godot13 (submissions), a WikiCup newcomer, finished top of Pool A and was the round's highest scorer. Godot is a featured picture specialist, claiming large numbers of points due to high-quality scans of historical documents, especially banknotes.
- Casliber (submissions) is a WikiCup veteran, having been a finalist every year since 2010. In the semi-final, he was Pool B's highest scorer. Cas's points primarily come from articles on the natural sciences.
- Czar (submissions) was Pool A's runner-up. Czar's points come mostly from content related to independent video games, including both articles and topics.
- Adam Cuerden (submissions) was Pool B's runner-up. Another featured picture specialist, many of Adam's points come from the restoration of historical media. He has been a WikiCup finalist twice before.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions) won the WikiCup in 2012 and 2013, and enters this final as the first wildcard. She focuses on biology-related articles, and has worked on several high-importance articles.
- 12george1 (submissions) is the second wildcard. George's points come primarily from meteorology-related articles. This year and last year, George was the first person in the competition to score.
- Sturmvogel 66 (submissions), the third wildcard, was the 2010 champion and a finalist last year. His writes mostly on military history, especially naval history.
- Bloom6132 (submissions), the fourth and final wildcard, has participated in previous WikiCups, but not reached any finals. Bloom's points are mostly thanks to did you knows, featured lists and good articles related to sport and national symbols.
We say goodbye to this year's semi-finalists. Matty.007 (submissions), ThaddeusB (submissions), WikiRedactor (submissions), Figureskatingfan (submissions), Yellow Evan (submissions), Prism (submissions) and Cloudz679 (submissions) have all performed well to reach this stage of the competition, and we hope they will all be joining us again next year.
There are two upcoming competitions unrelated to the WikiCup which may be of interest to those who receive this newsletter. The Stub Contest will run through September, and revolves around expanding stub articles, especially high-importance or old stubs. In addition, a proposal has been made for a new competition, the GA Cup, which the organisers plan to run next year. This competition is based on the WikiCup and aims to reduce the good article review backlog.
There is now a thread for brainstorming on how next year's WikiCup competition should work. Please come along and share your thoughts- What works? What doesn't work? What needs changing? Signups for next year's competition will be open soon; we will be in touch. If, at this stage of the competition, you are keen to help the with the WikiCup, please do what you can to participate in review processes. Our finalists will find things much easier if the backlogs at good article candidates, featured article candidates, featured picture candidates and the rest are kept at a minimum. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Reigning champion Cwmhiraeth (submissions) is in second place with a number of high-importance biology articles, including new FA Isopoda and new GA least weasel. Casliber (submissions), who is in his fifth WikiCup final, is in third, with featured articles Pictor and Epacris impressa.

Your knowledge on Bloons TD
You made a lot of edits to Bloons TD a while ago, and I was wondering how much you knew about the series. You rewrote the BTD Battles section to make it sound like 1 player in assault mode faces 1 player on defense mode. This is not true, as both players are in the same mode when in a battle. |<spanstyle="color:#DAA520">Randomno| WP 01:24, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Randomno! Thanks for fixing my mistake. A while back, I worked with Samwalton9 on a project to improve the BTD article. Both of us were familiar with the BTD5 app. Most of everything I simply learned from Internet research. Bananasoldier (talk) 01:18, 13 October 2014 (UTC)
- Alright, well it seems to be doing alright currently... I find it annoying there's so little info to source for it. |Randomno| WP 15:58, 13 October 2014 (UTC)
- That's essentially the main issue. I, having not played BTD since the first iteration, had to base my knowledge on sources which are fairly thin on the ground. Sam Walton (talk) 16:38, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

WikiCup 2015 is just around the corner...
Hello everyone, and may we wish you all a happy holiday season. As you will probably already know, the 2015 WikiCup begins in the new year; there is still time to sign up. We have a few important announcements concerning the future of the WikiCup.
- We would like to announce that Josh (J Milburn) and Ed (The ed17), who have been WikiCup judges since 2009 and 2010 respectively, are stepping down. This decision has been made for a number of reasons, but the main one is time. Both Josh and Ed have found that, over the previous year, they have been unable to devote the time necessary to the WikiCup, and it is not likely that they will be able to do this in the near future. Furthermore, new people at the helm can only help to invigorate the WikiCup and keep it dynamic. Josh and Ed will still be around, and will likely be participating in the Cup this following year as competitors, which is where both started out.
- In a similar vein, we hope you will all join us in welcoming Jason (Sturmvogel 66) and Christine (Figureskatingfan), who are joining Brian (Miyagawa) to form the 2015 WikiCup judging team. Jason is a WikiCup veteran, having won in 2010 and finishing in fifth this year. Christine has participated in two WikiCups, reaching the semi-finals in both, and is responsible for the GA Cup, which she now co-runs.
- The discussions/polls concerning the next competition's rules will be closed soon, and rules changes will be made clear on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring and talk pages. While it may be impossible to please everyone, the judges will make every effort to ensure that the new rules are both fair and in the best interests of the competition, which is, first and foremost, about improving Wikipedia.
If you have any questions or concerns, the judges can be reached on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, on their talk pages, or by email. We hope you will all join us in trying to make the 2015 WikiCup the most productive and enjoyable yet. You are receiving this message because you are listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. WikiCup 2015 launch newsletter
Round one of the 2015 WikiCup has begun! So far we've had around 80 signups, which close on February 5. If you have not already signed up and want to do so, then you can add your name here. There have been changes to to several of the points scores for various categories, and the addition of Peer Reviews for the first time. These will work in the same manner as Good Article Reviews, and all of the changes are summarised here.
Remember that only the top 64 scoring competitors will make it through to the second round, and one of the new changes this year is that all scores must be claimed within two weeks of an article's promotion or appearance, so don't forget to add them to your submissions pages! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! Your draft
Hi! I noticed you were making a draft on a certain fish species (can't remember the name; but it's the one you've been posting about everywhere). I made a few edits on the taxobox. I noticed that the article is already at least C-class. You should just move it and create the article. It seems to me like you want your article to be a good article the moment you introduce it to the article space. Just saying.
Also, I think that although the picture in the taxobox is nice, I agree with Plant drew that the picture is neither the best representation of the species in the aquatic trade and in the wild. And if you want it to be a B-class or good article the moment you introduce it into article space, I suggest that you add more description about it in the aquatic trade. - Hi @Gug01:! thank you for taking the time to check out my draft and edit the infobox. I appreciate your feedback, and I'll be making the image change per Plantdrew's advice. I'll keep the article in a draft some more as there's quite a bit more research to do. Thanks again for your advice & suggestions! Bananasoldier (talk) 20:46, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

LA edit-a-thons on February 14, 17, and 21
Redondo Loves Wikipedia (2/14), Wik-Ed Women (2/17), and Unforgetting LA at the Getty (2/21)! | |
---|---|
Dear fellow Wikipedian, The LA Wikipedia community has three events in mid-February -- please consider attending! First, we have a Valentine's Day edit-a-thon appropriately named Redondo Loves Wikipedia, which will take place at the Redondo Beach Public Library from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, February 14. Join library staff, the Redondo Beach Historical Society, and others to help improve Wikipedia's coverage of Redondo Beach! Second, we have a Wik-Ed Women editing session on Tuesday, February 17 from 6pm to 10pm at the Los Angeles Contemporary Archive downtown. This series of informal get-togethers is designed to encourage Los Angeles women-in-the-arts (though all are welcome!) to contribute their expertise to Wikipedia, specifically expanding content about women artists. Third, we have an Unforgetting LA event put on by East of Borneo in collaboration with the Getty Research Institute. Come help improve Wikipedia's coverage of LA design and architecture, and have an awesome free day at the museum -- parking will be validated for edit-a-thon participants! If you'd like to use particular books from GRI's great collection, be sure to email before 2/13 (instructions at event page). And be sure to check out our main meetup page, because we already have three SoCal events scheduled for early March! I hope to see you there! Bronco Bama listed at Redirects for discussion
An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Bronco Bama. Since you had some involvement with the Bronco Bama redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Mr. Guye (talk) 01:59, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
A favour please
I will give a favour and I think you should do some more WP:TAFIACCOMP-related stuff. I am busy and am doing school exams and homework relating to NCEA (a New Zealand way of University entrance). If I did not finish off a week in any week after a TAFI, then you will do the finishing off stuff. If you are not sure about some of these functions, talk to me in this section, with a "U" template. Qwertyxp2000 (talk) 05:18, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hi @Qwertyxp2000: I'd love to help you out, but unfortunately I'm also extremely busy at the time being. I'll try to cover the weeks when you can't, but you'll want to recruit more folks just in case I'm unable to do so. Good luck with NCEA! Bananasoldier (talk) 14:51, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks!
Hi Bananasoldier, thanks for your help with Girls Who Code! There's probably more to add but I've just moved it over to article space because I think it's good enough to be there now :) Sam Walton (talk) 16:37, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
