Re:Deletion of WAN, World Artist Network on MySpace
[edit]I deleted this under criteria for speedy deletion A7, "An article about a real person, group of people, band, or club that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject". Your article failed to do this.
For more information on what can qualify as a notable website, you might find the WP:WEB guideline useful. For more help on contributing to Wikipedia, see some of the links in my welcome above. Feel free to ask me any further questions on my talk page. Petros471 20:06, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hmmm, I suppose there might be enough claim on notability (the number of members) to deserve an WP:AFD discussion. Very well, I've undeleted and sent it to afd, where the Wikipedia community can decide. Whilst you are welcome to add your thoughts to that discussion I strongly suggest you don't ask the MySpace community to come and 'vote' on the AFD. AFD is not a vote, and doing so is not looked upon positively. You will strengthen your case on the AFD discussion if you can present (and put into the article) verifiable third party sources about the group, demonstrating why it is important. You will also need to pay attention to no original research, and neutral point of view. Petros471 21:30, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
AfD Nomination: WAN, World Artist Network on MySpace
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem to me that WAN, World Artist Network on MySpace meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.
Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/WAN, World Artist Network on MySpace. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.
Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, an administrator will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. -- Netsnipe (Talk) 07:57, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
You suck pal! You and your website are editing culture. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Baltimoretom (talk • contribs) .
- I'd like to remind you of our Wikipedia:No personal attacks policy. My philosophy on notability is this: you are only notable when others are writing about you, not when you (or your friends) decide to write about yourself. If you were unhappy with how the Articles for Deletion process went, you can appeal at Wikipedia:Deletion review-- Netsnipe (Talk) 18:46, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Humm...is there a reason certain puzzle pieces are missing from the Wikipedia logo? Certainly not from any policies of the Wikipedia staff to delete content other than what they want to have on their site. It's ok. I'll still use your site to get information about people places and things, but know that your site has lost serious points for this infraction. I have policies too. Ok, let me go look up an article on cotton candy or something like that.
