Speedy deletion nomination of Annotate.net
[edit]Hello Balalogic,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Annotate.net for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Benboy00 (talk) 17:52, 3 November 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Annotate.net Discussion
[edit]Copied from soon to be deleted talk page: This page should not be speedily deleted because... I beg to differ with your decision to delete this article. I feel that the page is a worthwhile addition to Wikipedia, as in my opinion it is a unique one-of-a-kind application that acts as a software receiver for Google Chromecast Mirroring Streams and Airplay Mirroring. Both these protocols are closed source, so this is one of the few applications to have implemented the protocol from scratch. The application also serves as a very useful tool for classroom/meeting collaboration and for annotating items on a screen. I have found it extremely helpful and think that the public would at large, benefit from a page that describes this application. I understand that the application is relatively new, but so are numerous others that are on pages that have not been deleted. I urge you to reconsider your decision. Balalogic
- First of all, thank you for your contributions. The biggest issue with your page was lack of apparent notability. For an article to be suitable for wikipedia, the subject must be notable, as defined in WP:NOTABLE. The best way to show notability is with 3rd party sources. If I recall correctly (and this may be incorrect, but I do not have a copy of the page), The only sources for this article were pr releases, which are obviously useless for showing notability, and some web articles from unreliable sources. If you can find better sources, then this article may well be suitable for wikipedia. You may be able to get a copy of the depeted page by asking at Wikipedia:Requests_for_undeletion. Ask them to userify or email your page to you. A good route to go through would be Wikipedia:Articles for creation, where your page will be reviewed before it is published, and reviewers will suggest changes. This will mean that your page does not get deleted (except under certain rare circumstances) before you get to implement the changes. I hope this has been helpful, and I would be glad to answer any questions you have. Thanks, Benboy00 (talk) 11:17, 4 November 2014 (UTC)
