FPDC

[edit]

Salam Badkhan. The problem is, according to the site host, FPDC has a lot of traffic which has made put their servers face a lot of load. That has made them move FPDC to a different server to handle the traffic but are also demanding we pay double the yearly fees for the website. So now we are thinking of shifting the sight to a different host which wont have traffic issues and isnt demanding as much money as the pervious ones. Cant say more about it, coz that's what all I know of too. Suprah™ (talk) 10:16, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Beauties and PR

If you were lucky enough to watch that episode on Nadia Khan's show on Geo TV where Sonia Ahmed and Mahleej Sarkari were invited, you'd know that the Miss Pakistan World pageant is really the hype. At least, when it comes to controversies, the organiser know where to bring the PR campaign. Their serious POV edits which have been proven to be made by the organisers and associates of the pageant are under debate at the article's deletion debate.

Follow-up on the last issue

In the last issue, we discussed about the sectarian issues that Pakistani articles were prone to. For an update, an advocate of the Shi'a faith and its prominent inclusion into the articles, LahoreKid has been banned for an indefinite period. In the process, a citation review project page was created for providing editors with a third-opinion on vague references.

For a in-depth coverage, read the talks here. Some news issues will be addressed shortly and new activities like contests and quizzes would be announced shortly as well.

Talking of sects...

I don't want to sound like a separatist, if I say that for the past few weeks the highest number of edits on anything related to Pakistan have been on articles that concerned Baluchistan. From major editions to the article on Quetta to the 1935 Balochistan earthquake tragedy.

In other news: It is now important for editors to look into the logistics section for gaining or providing support for various things in the article such as graphics or copy-editing. So, if you need copy-editing of an article, or your article lacks a picture, please consult at this page.

SAC

[edit]

Salaams Mohamed, thanks for showing such interest in the SAF/SAC. I've only recently started to research its history, so i'm afraid i can't enlighten you! Hopefully with time i can add some meat to the article. Thanks again Somaliwarrior (talk) 14:44, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Namibian Air Force

[edit]

I don't have much besides what I posted. However I searched a bit ob the crash in Congo and found this brief from 15th January 1999: "The war in the Democratic Republic Congo (DRC) continues. The crash of a Namibian military helicopter in the DRC causes five casualties" http://www.klausdierks.com/Chronology/141.htm

Niger Air Force

[edit]

Hi Badkhan, I'm afraid I can't help much on this. The initial listing of aircraft came from the French Government "Brothers in Arms" periodical from 2003, which I transcribed in 2007 here. That page ( https://pastel.diplomatie.gouv.fr/editorial/mae/freres-armes/241/1313.html ) appears to have moved, and I'm trying to find another copy of it now. My recollection was that this was just a list of aircraft which included the two MI-17. I think you are correct in that the aircraft the MNJ have claimed to have shot down are NOT these, but a different two. At the time the rebels reported this I looked for confirmation outside the rebels for this, but could find NONE. The MNJ claims these aircraft were from Ukraine, but I'm unclear if they were manned by Ukrainian or Nigerien pilots. Please let me know if you discover anything on this, and I'll post a new link for the French government article if I can find one. Cheers, T L Miles (talk) 15:20, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
