Help me!

Please help me with... How to put headlines on my user page. BadgerPacker (talk) 19:03, 14 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello BadgerPacker! Welcome to Wikipedia. What kind of headlines are you looking for? Are you referring to news headlines? I believe that a generic current events news feed wouldn't be appropriate on Wikipedia as it's not really relevant to Wikipedia's purpose (please see: WP:UPNOT). Your userpage is about you as a member of Wikipedia, so it should reflect you in that context. However, if you're looking for news specifically about Wikipedia, there is a project called The Signpost. You can look at my Userpage for an example, you'll see it on the right side. If this is what you're looking for, you can add:

{{signpost-subscription|right|width=20em}}

to your userpage. I hope this answers your question, please let me know if you have any more. Chrisw80 (talk) 19:22, 14 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No I meant like those stuff on top of the user page, like for example, on top of my user page, it says that I am at school on weekdays, but should be able to edit a lot on weekends. I'm talking about those headlines. Understand? If you are still confused, please let me know. BadgerPacker (talk) 20:08, 14 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see what you mean. Have a look at the User Page Design Center, there's a lot of good information there. Let me know if that helps. And you are most welcome for the cookies! If it doesn't help, let me know and we'll figure something out. :) Chrisw80 (talk) 20:15, 14 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Still can't find it. BadgerPacker (talk) 22:59, 14 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, it seems like you're looking for userpage templates like the {{busy}} template you're using now. I can't seem to find a list of those right now. However, you might be interested in userboxes, user boxes are for expressing interests and projects you might be involved in on Wikipedia. Please see this gallery WP:Userboxes/Gallery. Is there other specific information you would like in a user template, rather than putting information in free form? Chrisw80 (talk) 23:48, 14 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know how to sign up for a wiki project? The wiki project about Wisconsin highways says to sign up for it, look below, but there is no link to sign up. Thank you for helping me!

Request for Participation at WT: Airports

[edit]

As you may be aware, there was a recent discussion on the talk page of WP:Airports which prematurely and without consensus resulted in mass changes to airport articles throughout Wikipedia. Before a drastic change like this is put into practice, it is important to have clear consensus, which from my readings as an observer, did not occur. Many of these changes started to occur before any real discussion had taken place, and despite much disagreement from some community members. Disagreement is good -- it's great actually -- without it nothing would ever get done. But it's important that everyone opinions are heard fairly and accurately, and that significant changes like merging the Regional Airline destinations with the Mainline destinations are not done without such consensus. I encourage you, as someone involved in WP:Airports and the original discussion, to voice your opinions and discuss with others about how we should move forward at this point. Positive and constructive conversation is the way to a consensus. I also ask that everyone (myself included) ceases merging or un-merging mainline/regional destinations until a censuses is reached. Please contribute to the conversation here. Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 00:45, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
