A welcome from Sango123

[edit]

Hello, B jonas, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We're glad to have you in our community! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful.

Happy editing!

P.S. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need help with anything or simply wish to say hello. :)

Summary

[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. JoaoRicardotalk 14:42, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you can insert your page into this category, if you wish! Good luck! Adam78 20:03, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your edits to Scrabble letter distributions. I'm not sure how the page became so inaccurate, I'll check the others more thoroughly. Does this mean that you have a Hungarian Scrabble set yourself? If so, a picture of the tiles (like we have for the English set) would really brighten up the article. If you have time to take such a photo and upload it, I'd be really grateful! Soo 00:12, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your question

[edit]

With regard to your question at Wikipedia talk:Questions, Should there be a link to Wikipedia:Local Embassy on this page? , the answer is no - the page you posted on is not for general questions. It's possible that the help desk should have a link, however - I suggest you ask at Wikipedia talk:Help desk. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 01:38, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Latex

[edit]

Thanks for your help! I tried using the scripts you posted but I really don't know how to get them to work (I'm a total computer newbie). There's something more I need about the picture; I need the two vertical edges labelled a, the two horizontal edges labelled b, the diagonal edge labelled c, the top left triangle labelled U, and the bottom right triangle labelled V. Basically I'm trying to get it look like the first of three pictures on page 102 in Hatcher's book (http://www.math.cornell.edu/~hatcher/AT/ATch2.pdf).

If you feel like you're in the mood, can you please help me out? Sorry for bothering you again, I really don't understand how to work the EDF code, and I don't have time to learn right now because this project is due next week.

Note: I'm posting on your talk page because I've had plenty of experiences where people stop responding to my questions on ref desks because new questions push my one up (so the responder forgets to check for updates). Money is tight (talk) 23:42, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the compliment. I often wonder how productive it is to add information to WP:RD questions several days after their initial posting, but even if the OP never checks back, it will be there for anyone searching the archives. -- ToE 14:43, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your edit here, I left a reply. Don't get me wrong, I am also for keeping the article. But that is precisely why I would appreciate it if you could add your reasoning for what should in your opinion happen with the article. Otherwise, your "comment" will be ignored as a pure vote by the closing admin. --78.35.239.12 (talk) 10:15, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I will add a reason. I just thought all the good arguments have already been said above. – b_jonas 10:18, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
They have. But as you may have noticed, the nominator is trying to get as many keep !votes discarded as possible, by tagging them as {{SPA}} and responding with AADD links. Better to make sure he doesn't get his way, at least not in this imho shoddy manner. --78.35.239.12 (talk) 10:32, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hungarian help needed

[edit]

Hello B jonas, I'm contacting you because we need some Hungarian translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on hu.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Hungarian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 01:11, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Measure of Man, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Measure of a Man (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
