Aamir Khan
[edit]This is in reference to your comments on my edits to Aamir Khan's page. I would like to point out that I had not changed any of the factual information that you had posted, but had simply edited the prose to reflect grammatical correctness. Since you claim to hold the actor in such high regard, I don't see why you have a problem with this. I'd also like to point out that wikipedia is a free content encyclopedia that anyone can edit. You do not own any of the information on wikipedia and should refrain from contributing if you do not want your writing to be edited. You also have no business telling me that my edits are 'deprived'. The article was far better written after I edited it than it was before. I suggest that you look more closely at future edits before telling people to stop editing content that you have written. Talk —Preceding comment was added at 20:36, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Star Screen Awards
[edit]Oh Have you seen it? Great! But I want details LOL:) Who presented the award to Kareena (I know she wasn't there)? Were Preity and Rani present at the event? Shahid • Talk2me 12:51, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hey thanks for the details!:) LOL! Yeh that's very sad that all the images have been removed like this... Our great period, with every Bollywood article being well illustrated by beautiful images, is unfortunately over.:( Nevertheless... Shahid • Talk2me 19:43, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- That's great, but above all, I think your great!!!:) I admire your no-nonsense attitude to articles. Your willingness to pay attention to the most minor concerns, such as Veer Zaara --> Veer-Zaara, and not getting lazy when doing so, is commendable. Thank you so much:) Shahid • Talk2me 20:21, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks friend!:) Shahid • Talk2me 20:32, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- Well I personally feel it's quite redunant... You know they weren't married. They were just dating... Not that it matters whatsoever! There is no particular problem with that. BTW, there are some veteran actors who were dating for years, and now nobody mentioned that in the infobox... Take Salman-Ash (1999-2002), Akshay Shilpa (something like four five years) oh and there are many more.
- So I would say, remove. But if you still find it nice, as I said, there is no problem - that can remain. Shahid • Talk2me 20:42, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes friend, I have one. Sorry for not responding to your message. One editor sent me a message after you had, and I didn't notice your message. You can send me an e-mail. Just go to my user page, and click on the tool box: E-mail this user. Regards, Shahid • Talk2me 17:45, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- Just wanted to note that the fact that a cricket team is named after Kareena has nothing to do with the "in the media" section and her media lists. It always looked quite funny to me. Shahid • Talk2me 17:48, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

- Ha ha ha hey friend... Feels good to speak to someone. I would talk to you in Hindi but A) it takes some time. My Hindi is not polished at all, and I like doing things perfectly:). B) If we talk about matters, I think the winners should be:
- SRK/Darsheel - Best Actor
- Kareena - Best Actress (all the way; I'm happy that Madhuri got nominated but Kareena will win).
- Supporting Actor - I think Mithunda deserves more than Aamir. Although Aamir was nice.
- Supporting Actress - Konkona Sen/Tisca Chopra
- Film - TZP
- Music - Life in a metro
- Singer male - Shaan - Saawariya
- Singer female - Sunidhi Chauhan (I adore her!!!)
- Regards, Shahid • Talk2me 17:22, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Oh I'm also so so excited. Filmfare. So many years. Oh I forgot the critics LOL... So yes I mostly agree with your predictions. I saw Chameli yesterday. I almost forgot it, it was quite vague in my head (although I was planning to watch it two months back LOL).
- That's great that the acting in India gets so much better with every year isn't it? That's a tough competition for every actor. Shahid • Talk2me 17:45, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- I definitely agree.:) Ayesha Kapur (in my opinion) was even better that Rani herself. It was a powerful performance. Darsheel even overshadowed Aamir, although, well, he was the director. What makes me sad is that RaniPreitz completely disappeared. What a nonsense this is... Preity acted in four high profile films and non of them has seen the daylight yet. Oh I'm so excited for heaven on Earth. Since Kal Ho Naa Ho, Preity has't had any author backed role which gived her space for emotional drama. And Rani too; I still can't forgive her her silly act, turning down The Namesake for the relatively silly KANK. Just the other day, I saw the IIFA awards, and Deepa Mehta received an award there. I think that's where she met Preity for the first time. Shahid • Talk2me 18:05, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- EXACTLY! When Nirupa Roy was 30, she was already playing.... mother roles!!!! She played Amitabh Bachchan's mom several times!
- On the other hand, Rekha was getting better and smarter with the time. She played the role of Aarti in Khoon Bhari Maang when she was only... 34! And Shabana Azmi, according to her (as she said on KWK), she got the best roles of her career after she got forty. There are always proportions! Every actor requires his wills. Aishwarya, unfortunately didn't really find immense success in deglamorized roles for the simple fact that she is immensely beautiful, and is considered to be, even by westerners, one of the most beautiful women, so critics and audiences prefer take her as that. Shahid • Talk2me 18:32, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Huh, LOL see this and this article. So funny!!! See what Amisha Patel said, "While the Kareenas, Mallikas, Bipashas and Laras are on one side. Aishwarya, Rani, Preity and myself are on another." HA HA HA HA LOL!!!! Shahid • Talk2me 19:32, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Your work on Kapoor family is fabulous!
However, as I'm not too familiar to Bollywood, but I know this is true.
What would you call the mega family, which bonds Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor etc. And can you give me a couple of key figures, so I can create maybe a family tree.
Cheers

Well this has been done Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Core but perhaps you could add a handful of core Bollywood films to the list such as Sholay etc ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:12, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi, could you please take a look at Chinmay purohit filmography? Is he a notable director? No Not yet - but ya his future is bright, he is coming from Kundan Shah's school and having wonderful ideas for film making. He has just completed very unusual script called "SCOTLAND EXPRESS". Whole film in train... he is going to start his next venture with established actors very soon. He will be noted director very soon. Corvus cornixtalk 23:27, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

- Some editor offended him, so he left. I hope he gets back. If I'm not wrong, her mother died and her her uncle took her under his custody, and became her panderer. He utilised her to make "business"... At the end of the film she leaves the policy station with Rahul Bose and leaves him. I have the DVD.. Anyway, in the coming days I will have another short watch to update the synopsis of the film. Regards, Shahid • Talk2me 18:48, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Hello friend how are you!!!!! Its great to here from you. Whats up? Yes I got tired of receiving off putting messages all the time and given how much I contribute it really frustrates me. I've been back one day and already I;ve had this kid hounding my talk page calling me an incompetent editor and that "no admin on wikipedia wouldn't delete any of my contributions". I awarded Shahid the "Crap toleration barnstar" for his ability to deal with the equally nonsensical editors and editing he encounters on the Bollywood articles. Another thing -I heard Sarvagnya's articles have been tagged as copywrighted!!! Ohh the irony of that!! Who would have thought!!! I decided to add an image of the blegian flag to pay homage to my homies in Bruges and an image of Kim Jong Il as a child. Hope you like them!! What about you? Any GA's in the pipeline?? ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:41, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes I said to Shahid a few weeks back that I am certain there are many of the core Bollywood articles could pass GA with limited work on them, however long it took to pass Zinta. If you read many of those articles you mentioned in the context of the encyclopedia they really are rather good articles, just need some copyediting, POV addressing, a few references fixing etc which I am certain could be done easily. I developed KANK a bit when I had some time a few weeks ago. Personally I think it is compulsory that Amitabh's article is developed and improved as much as possible -I think it would be a great homage to Bollywood on wikipedia if his article could become an FA eventually. But first things first. Yes once you have finished uni you'll probably want to find a part time job. I worked for years after college but I finished that job back in November. I need to find something permanently sometime, perhaps I could get a job as a travel journo or something and actually get paid for my work!! But careers are difficult aren't they unless you really know what you want to do. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 21:05, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Kapoor
[edit]Hello Mister Rahul!
Your additions on Kapoor's page strike me a a bit odd.
- Filmfare rankings... Are there any references other than the one on the article? (She was not ranked third for three consecutive years as far as I remember). The ref states only about the last year, if references cannot be found, we'll have to remove the unreferenced part (like I did with Zinta's article).
- "Top Bollywood Female Stars" have also varied over the past four years, with the most notable one being third in 2004 and 2007 respectively - very strong POV. varied is vague and misleading, most notable is POV (we are not here to decide what's the most notable, it's up to the reader to decide); and finally, we have to present all rankings, if she was ranked. We cannot choose the best ones, omitting the rankings in between. It's a kind of glorification. Also, stating all rankings would help to illustrate the fact that she reestablished her commercial success in 2008, as stated in the career section.
Regards, Shahid • Talk2me 21:14, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- PS: You know I hate these lists, but as parts of prominent media lists, they should be presented fairly. Shahid • Talk2me 22:23, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- "In addition to the Filmfare rankings, Kapoor's position on the list of Rediff's 'Top Bollywood Female Stars' have ranged from the seventh to the third position over the past four years. sounds much better and is definitely not as POV as the one [sentence] that makes its presence on the article now because it also gives the lowest, not only the highest, and makes the report fair.
- But to be honest, I think it's still vague. My point is, if she was ranked, so why not mention that? If you mention 2004, you can't jump to 2007. If you already decided to mention that, the entire graph is required, not the highest ones. It has to be factually accurate. Preity was ranked first in 2003, second in 2004-06. On the Zinta page I included all rankings. In 2007 she was not ranked, so it's silly to write that she was not ranked because it's silly to report something that does not exist, ain't it?
- Kareena was ranked third in 2004, seventh in 2005, fifth in 2006, and third in 2007.
- I'm still thinking, ..., ..., ..., ..
- I don't know about scans though.. I hope that yes, but it has to be consulted. Shahid • Talk2me 05:49, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- PS: Have you seen Jodhaa Akbar? Shahid • Talk2me 15:37, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- "In addition to that, Kapoor ranked third on Rediff's 'Top Bollywood Female Stars' list in 2004.[1] She was later ranked seventh and fifth in 2005-06 respectively, and came back to the third position in 2007.[2][3][4]." - now it sounds brilliant.
- I have seen Jodhaa Akbar, the film is very nice and I really liked it. I liked Ahutosh's directing and Hrithik-Aish's performances. Hrithik particularly seems to get better with every film. I enjoyed watching it, but frankly, it wasn't that kind of film that made me want to watch it again and again and again. When will you watch it?
- Yeh these days weren't as regular for me on Wikipedia. What would you do if you were me? The days are so beautiful in here, the sea is bluer than ever. So I try to have a great time outside. Regards, Shahid • Talk2me 06:50, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Please see JA, it's a good film... Yeh I'm looking forward to Race. I like Abbas-Mastan. And Toronto is a beautiful city as well. In the end of this month, it's gonna be two years I'm in Melbourne! Shahid • Talk2me 20:01, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Also, don't know why but I have the feeling that Har Pall won't be released on the indicated indiaFM date... LOL! Shahid • Talk2me 20:02, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well, of course Tashan, Race, Har Pal.. am not really excited about Heroes, Preity has only a 20 minutes role, as do all her co-stars... I'll watch Black and White tomorrow. What about you? Shahid • Talk2me 11:57, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- To be quite honest, I'm not a big fan of this idea.. Top actors/actresses is a rather unusual idea (and quite a joke...), which doesn't constitute an encyclopedic content at all. There are no such lists on Wikipedia at all. For example, there are top films, films considered the best (by votings and rankings etc.), top selling singers and so forth. But top actors is an undue to Wikipedia, and will also cause many problems of bias amongst editors and users, many IP acts of vandalism etc. For example, Amrita Rao, is by not a top actress at all, but she has a growing following today, and many IP users would add her name. Also, according to what will we add that? According to BO? Popularity? Acclaim? Of course BO counts the most, but the most successful actors at the BO are not necessarily the most successful generally. This list for example is a list of the greatest actors of all-time conducted by the American Film Institute. It is a reputable and serious list by a reputable organization conducted by numerous prominent figures. So I would certainly oppose to have a top actors/actresses list, which is baseless, or even if based on something, it's based on sites on the net and personal opinions. I'd rather work on making a few GAs and creating new missing articles. :)
- To make such conclusions (top actors), the list of top grossing films and award pages are enough information for the reader. Regards, Shahid • Talk2me 01:09, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- HAAAAHAHA!!!!!! LOL!!!! And for that I wrote this whole block above. Well I just remembered that Blof had suggested this idea. But yes, I'm up for it!!! Shahid • Talk2me 07:28, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yes I had:) Shahid • Talk2me 16:29, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh yeh I heard that, but Aamir and Kareena are rumoured to take on the ICL, not IPL. Anyway that's great that they are showing interest in cricket isn't it? Well I'm not a fan either, but the matter is that Preity and SRK won the bid for some cricket teams, and now they own these teams, meaning, they make money from it (the teams have to win, to fill their pockets LOL). I would never spend such a huge sum for it, quite frankly... Huh LOL!!! Shahid • Talk2me 17:14, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- Some admin deleted the Aaja Nachle article huh. I asked him to restore it.. Well it's back now. Isn't it funny? Shahid • Talk2me 15:48, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hi
- No I haven't - it's not a big deal, I'll ask an admin to restore it. Just like in the case of Aaja Nachle. Shahid • Talk2me 17:04, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'll do it when it is needed. Now I think it cannot be restored yet. Have you heard about Ash's salary for Robot. It's the funniest thing in the world. A few days ago Kareena was considered the highest; today, with Robot, Ash is the highest paid. LOL! It's so inconsistent, I told you!!! [1] Shahid • Talk2me 17:35, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeh but until shooting is not begun - the article has to be deleted - I believe it will be deleted - as per the AFD. Now, I'm afraid it cannot be restored to its previous version because it was recreated. Regards, Shahid • Talk2me 18:20, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Magazines and fans sites
[edit]Hi Rahul. I would avoid fan sites anyway, but I don't think magazine scans/videos etc count as adequate/ reliable sources. As I said I would avoid fan sites or evne having anything to do with them in the encyclopedia. Unfortunately for Bollywood most of the sites on the web are fan based, but I think you are doing a great job in writing them and making them as encyclopedic as possible .Regards ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 10:28, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Billoo Barber
[edit]The film, directed by Priyadarshan, has supposedly started its shooting per sources, with Irfan Khan in the lead role. Shah Rukh Khan plays an extended guest appearance and him and Kareena Kapoor, in a guest role have started shooting already. Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Tabu, Amisha Patel, Rani Mukerji, Vidya Balan and others have also been approached supposedly to star in the movie. A remake of a Malayalam film, being made as Kuselan in Tamil.
Is this true? Should an article be created?[2]

- My watchlist shows your new edits on Bebo's awards list. I would not do this style. I quite understand you, you want to reinvent the page every some bit, but this format matches more filmography tables, and now it looks a bit odd and unclear. The table is in any case confusing, and this format makes the lines be hardly noticed, and it looks like a mess. Well, just my opinion... Shahid • Talk2me 01:29, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Saif is getting better with every film, Bipasha is hot and marvelous. Remember on KWK she said if she was to date other actor other than John it would be Saif? Well it can be easily seen throughout the film!! HAHAHA LOL!!! Akshaye Khanna, with every performance makes me understand how underrated he is... Katrina is a prop, and she is very plastic, but she gives her utmost, that must be lauded... Anil Kapoor is wasted... The film is excellent, rocking, exciting and the end is sad... Great film to spend time... Shahid • Talk2me 01:35, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- I cannot judge. Will see, my disappointment from Yash Raj is still on going. Race is a good film. Tashan offers so much to the audience: Akshay's and Kareena's comeback to Yash Raj, Akshay and Kareena at the top of their popularity, Saif-Kareena are a well publicised and gossiped couple, Akshay's comback to action films, YR comback to action. - First of all, when it comes to net sites, the "awards" which are not real awards and not concrete, should be at least conducted and concluded by votings or polls, people's choice. This one is an "award" by the editors of this site (who are also chosen via Internet). Radiosargam makes a poll and it announces its winners via radio, BBC as well. Rediff makes viewers' choice awards, all of these awards are polls, which could be later separated into one section. Planetbollywood as well.
- Secondly, and most importantly, bollyspice is completely unreliable, not just a non-RS, but unreliable. It may be that most of what is written there is right, but it's a kind of a blog. Sites like radiosargam and planetbollywood are still conducted by educated people (I'm saying that cause they are considered non-RSes), but bollyspice is a kind of a blog, editors (who are not professional even) write there their views and very often they even copy from Wikipedia. I'm yet to prove the reliability of planetbollywood (I think it's a RS). Reliable sites generally make polls, so it's not a problem. I still think over if we have to remove radiosargam and planetbollywood too, well... So that's it. Regards, Shahid • Talk2me 09:49, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks pal!! Please keep an eye on the articles... Regards, Shahid • Talk2me 19:44, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well OK but it's still a kind of a blog and the votes are from their forum. Radiosargam also has a forum-based part, but most of those who vote there are logged readers. But as I said, I'm thinking over whether RadioSargam does apply or not. Regards, Shahid • Talk2me 21:46, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Rahul I'm sorry but I disagree with adding back the BS awards. It's easy to say always for now. But we cannot let ourselves add blog awards. I also came to decision that as Bollywoodsargam is also a bloggy site, with polls conducted by forum votes, it should be removed. Let's stick to real, concrete poll awards, like Rediff, made by registered readers, and not teenagers from the forum. Shahid • Talk2me 15:17, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I thought it was announced on Radio, but I think I was wrong. Shahid • Talk2me 15:25, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- Since when is BollySpice a blog? The site is really famous and is clearly mentioned on BIG 92.7 FM all over India. The awards were well documented and were clearly announced. The editors are well educated and the magazine has a lot of visitors! I think that you're being unfair towards them as I don't think you know the site that much to be honest. --SpicyMaster (talk) 15:40, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
