you are capable of creating https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Forrest_(pilot_boat) then the least you can do is to know where to put it - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Western_Australia. recently created articles JarrahTree 02:03, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, what do you mean? I'm not currently part of any projects. BAABNRRBBORB1 (talk) 02:15, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also why did you create a duplicate WikiData listing for Lady Forrest? The image used on the Wikipedia article is literally attached to the original WikiData listing via the Commons category. BAABNRRBBORB1 (talk) 03:13, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Whoa, the subject of the article is specifically located in and historically operated in Fremantle -
which makes it eligble to be tagged as it has been identified as a boat in Fremantle Maritime museum
there is no assumption as to where you might be for anything in any way, you could be in Rekjavik, and a vulcanologist for all that I know - it is irrelevent to the article and its subject
there is not necessarily assumption that the image in commons is necessarily related to the english wikipedia article - the english wikipedia article about the boat, may have an image that is separately identified in wikidata, or linked, it depends... it requires a distinction which is adequately mapped out. I simply don't understand what you mean,

I am trying to explain the talk page additions - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Lady_Forrest_(pilot_boat)/jarrahtree answer

please explain, I added the category, Fremantle Harbour,

: [[Category:Pilot boats]]
: [[Category:Fremantle Harbour]]
: [[Category:Steamships of Australia]]
: [[Category:Motorboats]]
: [[Category:Ships of Australia]]
: [[Category:Museum ships in Australia]]
: [[Category:Ships built on the Isle of Wight]]
: [[Category:1903 ships]]
Categories are on the front of the page, the talk page behind is separately the location of WikiProjects.
The set that are here of categories - are more than are needed, but that is something separate from this lot.../jarrahtree answer

the closest category to ships by state is "ships of south australia", there is also "sailing in western australia", which is what I added the Lissa Solklint to, but I felt the category referred more to yachts and so didn't add Lady Forrest to it.

There is nothing wrong with the creation of ships of western australia - will do/Jarrahtree answer

I don't understand how articles are added to projects or why I need to, could you please elaborate,

Wrong direction, projects are added to articles, look at the talk page of the lady forrest article. Nobody needs to do anything./jarrahtree answer

as you should know I've blocked for 4 years

Being blocked is between you and those who did it, I have no idea what was going on/jarrahtree answer

so I'm not aware of what projects are and as to their purpose.

Look at talk pages, if necessary reverse edit them, to understand them/jarrahtree answer

Also I merged the WikiData items together anyway so that's all good.

I sure hope you know what you are doing, I tried to explain potential differences between a photo and english wikipedia article/jarrahtree answer

oops clarify - indented lines are replies, mostly partial - to your comments that are left aligned to the left. Hopefuly understandable JarrahTree 11:46, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think you misunderstood me (or maybe I'm still not getting it), though I thank you for attempting to clarify the details, I'll simply ask you this: why did you originally message me? Should I be adding the WikiProject banners to the talk page of articles I'm creating? Also I mentioned my block to illustrate the fact I've been away from Wikipedia for a long time and I'm still settling in, you did not need to respond to this part. Also sitelinks are indeed different from WikiData items. Thanks. BAABNRRBBORB1 (talk) 12:28, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mutiny on the Ethel, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Broome. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
