Image Tagging Image:B4Cca.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:B4Cca.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. tomf688 (talk - email) 21:07, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- Do not remove these tags unless you provide a source. Such actions are considered vandalism. --tomf688 (talk - email) 16:25, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
- Please stop uploading images that you have not provided a source for and of which you claim are GFDL images. This is not helpful, and they will be deleted unless sources are provided. --tomf688 (talk - email) 16:28, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging for Image:7N1.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:7N1.PNG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Image:92 b4c.pdf listed for deletion
[edit]An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:92 b4c.pdf, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in its not being deleted. Thank you. —Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 02:39, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
The Old West Museum article moved to Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum
[edit]Hey, User:B4Ctom1. I moved the article you wrote to more accurately reflect the full name of the museum, as described on their website. Also, I realize that it may be "The" Old West Museum in local parlance, but Wikipedia guidelines Wikipedia:Naming conventions (definite and indefinite articles at beginning of name) request not using the definite article in most cases. If you disagree with this action please let me know--Ltvine 23:29, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
No Problem, thanks B4Ctom1 05:32, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Redirect
[edit]A tag has been placed on B4ctom1, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an user page from the main/article space. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Flyguy649 talk contribs 19:19, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:RIAdelivered.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:RIAdelivered.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 17:28, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Question?
[edit]What is the attribution for the 50 caliber round picture 12.7x99.png? I'd like to be able to reference the source. Ckelloug (talk) 21:06, 8 July 2008 (UTC)ckelloug
I made it myself. It uses approximations of various measurements I made and found in military publications. Where do you wish to publish it? B4Ctom1 (talk) 01:52, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Image permission problem with Image:B4Cca.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:B4Cca.jpg. I noticed that that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 293.xx.xxx.xx (talk) 03:33, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
I will add the following: The image was also seen here. This leaves a little question of the copyright status of the image. If you are the original creator of the picture, then please provide proof of the image via the means provided to you. Thank you.--293.xx.xxx.xx (talk) 03:37, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Due to an editors error, you have until Wednesday, 3 December 2008 to clear up the copyright status of the image, otherwise, it maybe deleted in accordance with Wikipedia Policy.--293.xx.xxx.xx (talk) 06:13, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Notification of automated file description generation
[edit]Your upload of File:B4Ctom1GW.JPG or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.
This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
