Lead Section Size

The lead section of a Wikipedia article is the section before the first heading. The table of contents, if displayed, generally appears between the lead section and the first subheading.

Rule of thumb: If a topic deserves a heading or subheading, then it deserves short mention in the lead.

The lead section should contain up to four paragraphs, depending on the length of the article, and should provide a preview of the main points the article will make, summarizing the primary reasons the subject matter is interesting or notable. The lead should be capable of standing alone as a concise overview of the article, should be written in a clear and accessible style, should be carefully sourced like the rest of the text, and should encourage the reader to want to read more. The following table has some general guidelines for the length of the lead section:

< 15,000 characters medium size > 30,000 characters
one or two paragraphs   two or three paragraphs   three or four paragraphs

Samaira Sandhu moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Samaira Sandhu, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. March 2020

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Newslinger. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/KartikeyaS343 have been disallowed by an edit filter because they did not appear constructive. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page, which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Also feel free to ask for assistance at the Help Desk whenever you like to. Thank you. — Newslinger talk 08:26, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As a reminder, you will need much stronger evidence to file a sockpuppetry report on another editor than what you provided in Special:AbuseLog/26320446. You must also identify at least two accounts that you believe are related to each other. — Newslinger talk 08:28, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My evidences were correct and you can see KartikeyaS343 has been blocked now. B-Factor (talk) 11:20, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
