- Thank you so much for all the improvements you made to the article, and the help links you provided. I tried to search for tutorials, to insert images and the language link to the page in Japanese but I was not very lucky in my tries… I managed to understand how references are working though, that's a victory.
- I need to learn how to put the nice boxes on the right of the screen and I do not despair to find a way to insert footnotes.
- I'm really glad there are nice people like you to cover up for my shortages! Bérangère444 (talk) 23:06, 25 July 2024 (UTC)

asilvering (talk) 02:49, 21 August 2024 (UTC)- Thanks for writing this article! I'd like to double-check - this is your own new creation and not a translation of an article from another language wiki, right? (If it is a translation, we need to properly attribute it.) I would also suggest collapsing the headings a bit, since it goes all the way down to fourth-tier headings. This will be easier to navigate if you remove "Outline" and bump every heading under that up a level. -- asilvering (talk) 02:56, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for accepting the article. I wrote it myself based on the different sources mentioned. The Japanese article was quite a mess, talking not only about the Kaizuka Period, but also the Palaeolithic, and other Neolithic periods from other parts of the Ryukyu and Japan, and repeating things two or three times in different parts of the article, so that I gave up on translating and thought it'd be easier to write it from scratch instead. We had a lot of conferences about the Kaizuka Period recently so that I had a lot of recent sources.
- I'll modify the headings as you suggested, thanks for telling me. Bérangère444 (talk) 03:05, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- Great, thanks! -- asilvering (talk) 03:35, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Prehistory of the Ryūkyū Islands
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Prehistory of the Ryūkyū Islands indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 06:43, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- Good day,
- I put the Kaizuka period page in this category, but I don't know why it won't appear on the Category page. I created another category Category:Prehistoric sites in the Ryūkyū Islands for another article (Nakadomari (archaeological site) ) and the page correctly appears on the Category page. The help page said that the categories should automatically appear in a box at the bottom of the article, which is not the case (I mean, they are at the end of the article but there is no box) so I must have done something wrong, but I am not sure what.
- There are at least two other articles to be written for the Category:Prehistory of the Ryūkyū Islands (Neolithic in another part of the archipelago and Palaeolithic), and probably more with detailed articles for instance on pottery or lithics, so I'd rather have it not deleted.
