November 2023

[edit]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Filipino language because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 12:12, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for that! Azra Bia (talk) 13:08, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm TechnoSquirrel69. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the main body of Vice Ganda. Generally, any relevant external links should be listed in an "External links" section at the end of the article and meet the external links guidelines. Links within the body of an article should be internal Wikilinks. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Calicoan

[edit]

Your edits to Calicoan Island have been corrected or reverted due to blatant WP:SOAPBOX and WP:ADVERT violations, possible copy-paste and copyright violations, excessive euphemisms and improper formatting. Please be mindful that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a travel brochure. If you decide to continue with your current manner of editing, you may find yourself reported and/or sanctioned to/by admins from making further edits. For further information, see Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Borgenland (talk) 12:51, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I do understand. Azra Bia (talk) 13:35, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page West Visayas State University, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 15:40, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A lengthy welcome

[edit]

Hi Azra Bia. Welcome to Wikipedia. I've added a welcome message to the top of this page that gives a great deal of information about Wikipedia. I hope you find it useful.

Additionally, I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily in collaboration.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.

If you find yourself in a disagreement with another editor, it's best to discuss the matter on the relevant talk page.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal (talk) 18:52, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please respond

[edit]

Hi Azra Bia. I've been reviewing your edits, and am very concerned with what I am finding. I strongly suggest you stop and explain what it is you're trying to do so that others can help you.

Some quick suggestions on adding citations:

  • Be sure that an additional citation is needed.
  • Be sure that the source you're adding is reliable.
  • Be sure to add the basic information for a citation: publication date, author, publisher, title, etc.
  • Be sure to check if the source might be already used as a citation in the article.

Looking forward to your reply. --Hipal (talk) 23:37, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Good day, Nipal.
I find your messages very helpful. But what are the specific edits that you're very concerned about? Are my edits that bad?
Thanks, Nipal. Azra Bia (talk) 23:49, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I meant to type, Hipal* hahahaha! sorry for the light typo Azra Bia (talk) 23:50, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Again, what is it you're trying to do? You appear unable to do the basics that I identified above. Please stop and give others a chance to help you.
In the meantime, I'm removing any of your edits when they appear to ignore the guidance you've been given. --Hipal (talk) 00:12, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sources in intro

[edit]

Please refrain from adding unnecessary sources in the intro per MOS:LEADCITE. Yankees10 18:50, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks! Azra Bia (talk) 03:09, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But as I assess my sources, those aren't unnecessary? Azra Bia (talk) 03:12, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:55, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
