The fly on Roxy's page
Hello, AzaToth. I don't understand why you think the fly on Roxy's page (and on a number of other user talkpages; pinging JBW as an example) violates WP:SMI. I know you're an accomplished programmer, but this is surely more a common-sense issue. It seems to me that it's not Roxy who needs to explain why his fly doesn't do any harm, but rather you who need to explain why it does. Also, please keep in mind that traditionally, Wikipedia offers wide latitude to users to manage their user space as they see fit. (Roxy and JBW both stole the fly from my page, btw, though I eventually tired of it and removed it.) Bishonen | tålk 13:54, 8 November 2022 (UTC).
- It's the first time I seen that fly, and to me it's clearly interfering with the user interface and makes the page less accessible for users. I didn't mean to imply Roxy need to explain it, but merely if they could think of anything that I've been mistaking in the matter. →AzaToth 15:12, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- It's a joke thing. The way it interferes with accessibility (by maybe 0.5 %) is part of the joke. Harmless, IMO. Bishonen | tålk 16:01, 8 November 2022 (UTC).
- AzaToth, surely you have to be joking? No? You really, honestly think that this "makes the page less accessible for users"? And enough so to justify summarily removing it from an editor's talk page without consultation? Really? JBW (talk) 17:16, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- I didn't know it was such a contentious issue. To me it was a clear case of disruption of the Wikipedia interface, which "may be removed or remedied by any user". →AzaToth 19:57, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- It is disruption. Just disruption that some administrators engage in and therefor its "ok". But it's not, and if everyone would do this, it would get shut down pretty fast. —TheDJ (talk • contribs) 18:53, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- Nonsense. You think Roxy is an admin, TheDJ? That would be incorrect. Bishonen | tålk 20:06, 12 November 2022 (UTC).
- I’m clearly talking about JBW and yourself. —TheDJ (talk • contribs) 22:59, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

@Azatoth you are correct, but I took the fly to represent commentary on @User:Roxy the dog's role on Wikipedia. Consider How Houseflies Work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bbachrac (talk • contribs) 17:49, 11 November 2022 (UTC) Bbachrac (talk) 18:01, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
