RfD on misspelled taxonomy redirect
[edit]Hello Aytrus! I see that your RfD nomination for deletion of the redirect Phaeoannelomyces werneckii was decided with a keep. Misspelled redirects can be misleading, as you said, so we should tag them with the template {{R from misspelling}} in those cases where they redirect to the correct spelling, and with the correct spelling provided as an argument to that template, such as {{R from misspelling|Phaeoannellomyces werneckii}}, otherwise, as I have just done for this case. -- ToET 13:48, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- Aytrus responded
- I agree with you about the potential harm (small as it is) that these redirects can cause, but it is nearly impossible to push a simple misspelling redirect through RfD these days. While I am fine with keeping those that are intentionally created for the purpose, I think they should be more willing to delete those that were created accidentally via a typo, and not originally intended to be a redirect from misspelling. -- ToET 09:06, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
P system / GLOB
[edit]Hi Aytrus, You introduced some changes in the P and GLOB blood group systems on Human_blood_group_systems. Although it is confusing that currently the P blood group system (ISBT 003) has the P1 antigen and the GLOB system (ISBT 028) has the P antigen, it is a fact (see current ISBT nomenclature). Additionally, there is the collection 209 called GLOB with Pk and LKE antigens. Based on just recently presented research results, there may be modifications in these classifications in the future. However, I think wikipedia should reflect the current status of knowledge. Otherwise please add citations to the proper references to reflect your last changes. I think that you should revert your modifications on P and GLOB in this article and also the chromosome changes in the P_antigen_system article. Thanks --Firefly's luciferase (talk) 16:47, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- update. I reverted both articles and made some additional changes. Please read the talk pages of both articles. Best wishes, --Firefly's luciferase (talk) 18:57, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
