Hi Awwhiteman, and thanks for leaving feedback. Technically Wikipedia doesn't use HTML, it uses the (very similar!) WikiMarkup language. You can view a list of the most common commands and their effects at this page.
Because of the number of editors and articles, Wikipedia has no set citation style - Harvard, MLA, Chicago, Vancouver and others are all supported. Personally I use {{cite}} templates, but it's down to personal preference more than anything. See this page for some of the options available.
