[edit]Medications
[edit]When influenza outbreaks occur, medications such as amantadine or rimantadine may be efficacious; however they are associated with adverse effects[1]. A 2014 Cochrane Review concluded that Zanamivir or oseltamivir treatment decreases the chance that those exposed will develop symptoms; however, it is recommended that potential side effects are taken into account before prescribing to patients.[2]
