I've been reading the article on Skokie, IL, which claims the village's population in the 1960s was 58% Jewish. I can't find an authoritative source for this claim, which I believe is controversial. Is there a way to flag this as a question for others without changing the text of the article? Thanks!
- You have several avenues of approach. One, you can simply remove information that does not have a source. Two, you can tag the problem inline with a template like {{failed verification}}. Three, you can raise the issue on the talk page of the article to see if other editors have an opinion about what to do. Four, you could raise the issue at a WikiProject talk page - perhaps WT:WikiProject Chicago, in hopes of attracting the attention of a broader group of editors.
- Note that the claim in the summary need not be separately footnoted if the claim is documented below in the body text. And it has also been known to happen that a well-documented section in the body can be edited out for whatever reason, but without also editing the summary to match. So investigate the situation as best you can and proceed with your best judgment. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 00:27, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
